This nail clipper has worked well for us. We got a small one and it is perfect for our 25# dog. It’s easy to use and she doesn’t mind it at all. It doesn’t take much force to clip her nails and the guard makes it easy

It’s probably a fine nail nipper. In my case I had to start maintaining my 16 y.o cats nails as he got older. Given he had never had them trimmed before he can be a bit hard to work with. So a fair bit of the time when I use them it will “split” his nail. Which of course he doesn’t love. The nail file was a good touch. If I can get him into the right angle, it might not split, but because he’s so not used to the sensation it’s a little tricky to get him into said right spot.

We love this clipper! My previous one was so flimsy it couldn’t even get through my dog’s thick nails, but this one is strong and sturdy—making nail trims quick and far less traumatic for my drama queen’s “spa days.” Now I can easily keep all my animals’ nails in check at home, saving money on grooming appointments. It even works for my cat’s nails, as long as I’m extra careful.

The built-in safety guard is a lifesaver for someone like me who’s terrified of cutting too short. That said, if your pup’s nails haven’t been trimmed in a while, the guard might still be a bit too long at first and could nick the blood supply. I found trimming a teeny tiny bit each week got my dog’s nails back to a healthy length. My advice—go slow at first until you’re comfortable, and you’ll love these clippers as much as I do.

These are the best clippers I’ve ever owned. I’ve been cutting our dogs nails for over 20 years and have never had a better pair of clippers. They are just the right size for my hands. We have 3 dogs a chihuahua a shitzu and large breed puppy. They worked great on all three they are sturdy sharp fast at clipping without breaking their nails. They even have a metal file that comes out of the bottom to help file any sharp edges. Well made comfortable in my hands and I love the color!

He’s an incredibly old eldritch beast of a rabbit and feels very birdboned so I tend to prefer to be very gentle when handling him which luckily he is more than happy to tolerate.

The blades are sharp, the mechanism is smooth when you squeeze and you get a nice quick chop out of it with good control so I’m glad we bought these.

They do have a quick guard to control the amount you trim but we have not needed it as our cryptid’s nails grow very fast and I always need to take off a little more than the guard allows and I tend to go for speed doing these jobs (luckily for me his claws are all white/clear enough to see the quick) but it does just slide out of the way easily when you’re not using it so that’s great.

We got the smaller size as rabbit claws aren’t known to be super chunky but I reckon it would work well for most small/medium dog breeds as well, honestly.

Good value for money, sturdy, thick comfortable handle with good grip but not so chunky you can’t maneuver when needed.
