Our little puppy has dark nails. I bought this item so I could see the ‘quick’ inside the nail. I could not. Also, the grinder was not very quiet when turned on. I didn’t think using this item would be safe for my puppy. Perhaps the item was defective. Anyway, I decided to return it.

I’ve been able to cut our dogs nails without making her bleed. This is very easy to use and you can see where is safe to cut, it’s very sturdy and a good size for my dog nails and human hands. I love the lock mechanism because keeps the blade secure, and the cut is clean and accurate.

This is PERFECT! It makes the process of trimming my cat’s nails a dream. The fact that it’s rechargeable, has a trimmer and a filer, with LED lights, makes it the perfect all-in-one cat trimmer I’ve ever used.

The LED light helps you to see the quick. I have one dog that has a few darker claws and it i was able to see. I don’t know how well it would work on black claws.
Both my dogs are around 65lbs., their claws are very thick. Just barely had enough space between the jaws to fit. If you got an extra large breed, these clippers may be a challenge.
The lil cup that catches the clippings works, but you better empty as you go. Clippings will fall through the blade gap if not in the close position.
The grinder is relatively quiet and vibration is minimal. Wish it had a dust catcher as well. You’re gonna have dust for sure.
Overall, the clippers are comfortable to hold and fairly easy to use. Be careful not to get too close to the tip of the quick, you may still end clipping too close and it bleed. Remember, to keep cornstarch close by just in case.

This is by far the BEST pet grooming tool I own! My dog usually snaps when I try to clip his nails and I hate doing it because I always fear hurting him. BUT, the LED light helped me see the quick in his nails (he has light nails, not black) so it was easy and painless and I was able to clip all of his nails safety in one sitting for the first time in 5 years! I didn’t need to grind them because the shears gave a nice clean cut but I appreciate the option and the additional LED light on the grinder side as well! I even turned on the grinder to hear what it sounded like and it was so quiet, my dog (who spooks easily) stayed laying right by me while I had it on. I’ve used this item one time but overall, I am very satisfied with this product.

LOVE! This is the only nail trimmer I have been able to use on my dog. She’s still scared of it, but if I put some peanut butter in front of her she’ll allow me to clip her nails. I feel so much better being able to clearly see her wick so I’m not traumatizing/ hurting her when I’m cutting her nails and I love how easy it is to use. I also love the fact that it has a trapper for the nails you cut off so they aren’t flying everywhere. It’s very light weight as well. The pommel is very quiet, so much so- I can use it when she is sleeping and not wake her up. Definitely a great value for your money!

Wonderful product! I still cannot see the quick thru the black nail on my doxie but the light helps with cutting his nails and the grinder is so gentle and quiet that he has even fallen asleep while I trimmed/ground his nails! I would highly recommend this product – totally worth the price!

This is a great product but a little misleading. Not sharp enough for big dogs. Maybe little/small/small/medium. Nothing over maybe 30lbs with thicker nails unless you just use the dremel. Its small enough to pack away.
