Great bed for NON-PSYCHOTIC dog!!! Our adorable rescue loves to build forts with our bed pillows…. I even build an indoor dog house with a huge cardboard box and pillows inside. Now, back in those days, the dog gloos only existed for cat or mini dogs. I jumped up and down when I find that bed: finally not one of my “craft creation”. Result: he hates, despises, loathes this cutsy doggy cave!!!! Tried removing plastic arch, flipping it over, stuffing pillows inside…. No, his majesty refuses his new fancy house, this rescue has probably ultra luxury taste: does it come in the finest silk on earth???? Gave bed to neighbor: love at 1st snuggle.

Dachshunds love to burrow and ‘cave beds’ seem to be the general favourite of the breed but I recently realised that the one she preferred had gotten very thin on the bottom. As she will be turning 15 soon, I set about looking for a nice orthopedic one for her…and this is perfect! It’s kept in my office so she is in it the majority of the day but of an evening she often ‘asks’ to go in there to climb into her new favourite bed! As you will see from the photos, we didn’t insert the opening tube as she likes to snuggle in it but it does mean I have to lift it up for her to get into; she can do it herself but she’s a bit of a diva! She is an only fur-child but this bed would easily fit two of her in and she’s a larger miniature dachshund at 6.5kg but the mattress is so lovely and thick (looks like an egg box when you get it) she barely makes a dent in it so would be fine for heavier doggos too. Very impressed and will probably have to buy another for the lounge!

I first purchased this bed in 2023 and it was my dog’s favorite little cave. It got so much use that I repurchased it and boy was he disappointed when an extremely flat bed arrived. After over 48h it didn’t expand so I emailed FurHaven support. They were fantastic and sent out a replacement foam immediately. This issue seems to be due to shelf life meaning Amazon doesn’t cycle through the products fast enough and the foam does not regain its shape after being vacuum packed for an extended period of time.
As seen in comparison photo, the bed with foam immediately out of package from FurHaven is less compressed than the foam sent by Amazon that has been given 10 days to expand to normal size. Photo of my dog is on the newly replaced foam, not the original foam from Amazon.
5 stars for the bed and FurHaven support but I would give Amazon a 1-star rating for sending out defective items.

Very cheap. Very thin. I normally get Snoozer brand but price was over $100 for a medium. So I tried this. It’s soft, sure but pad is just a piece of egg crate with no coverage. The cave cover is very thin as well. My dog won’t be warm enough and I’ll need a mat or something under it bc we have hard wood floors.
For the price I guess it’s ok but it’s just not very good quality

Not at all waterproof. Urine immediately soaked thru the cover int the foam
Not arrowroot in the slightest, and the foam core soaks up fluids immediately.
Yes, there are instructions on the cover itself how to clean it, but no included instructions on how to clean the foam. Just got this and already going to toss it as one of the dogs wanted to mark it. Waste of money if it can’t be cleaned.

My dog absolutely loves this bed! We’ve had it for a month now and he hasn’t even tried to tear it up (which means a lot from him lol). I like that it has the soft blanket cover but also has a very supportive cushion bottom. Highly recommend!
