At first glance, I was very surprised to see how my extremely picky cat went right for it. He definitely loves the taste without a doubt. It has only been a few days so I need more time for observations to see if there is actually a reduction in the allergens associated with the hair and dander. My only suggestion to Purina is it would be awesome if this product can get an upgrade with healthier and better quality ingredients without the corn gluten meal and the poultry-by-product meal. That’s the only reason why I’m not giving it a 5 star due to the lower quality ingredients when compared to his current cat food. Otherwise, my cat is crazy about it like it’s cat food on catnip! There was no transition period needed. He just gobbled it down like there’s no tomorrow! As far as taste goes, Purina sure got it down! Update: May 22: it’s been over a week since I’ve switched the cat food to Purina Pro Plan Live Clear. My cat still loves the food and I’m considering keeping him on it permanently just based on observations that my cat really craves it. I still have not notice any significant reduction in the allergies in my household. I am still sneezing constantly but that could be due to the high pollen’s and allergens in the local area. I believe it will take a little longer for the full effects of the food to see real changes in my case. I’m highly sensitive to allergens so anything could set me off but I don’t seem to be sneezing or undergoes what I called an “allergic attack” when the cat rubs his body on my face so that’s a positive note. Update: May 26, based on my observations and analysis over the past few weeks. I can certainly say that the Purina Live Clear actually works. My cat has been spending more time with me and have been unusually needy and friendly by sleeping on top of my head and rubbing his body close to my face. As sensitive as I am to allergens; I have not been sneezing or get itchy eyes/skin. Judging from the product promises of reduction in allergens and taste-wise ; I would give it a 5 star. However, for the overall assessment of the product, I would give it a 4 and a half star due to some questionable ingredients such as corn and poultry by products. June 1 update: After several weeks of observations, I’ve noticed that my allergies are none existence. My cat is happy. June 12 Update:. His food ran out recently and my cat refuse to eat to his old cat food so I had to reordered a new batch for him. 5 Star!!!

I have always had mild cat allergies (scratchy throat, watery eyes) but my now-husband came as a package deal with two lovely indoor cats. The first couple months after the cats moved in, especially in the summer, were absolute hell despite keeping them out of the bedroom and cleaning excessively.
This food immediately (within a week) reduced the amount of dander that was agitating my allergies. Yes, it’s more expensive than the average cat food, but for us it’s well worth it. Both cats love it, there is no noticeable smell, the nutrition facts are excellent, and the serving size is less than the cheap food which makes the price more palatable.
No issues with longevity. We always order the big bag to minimize the price per ounce and keep the extra in a sealed container, which seems to keep it fresh until the bag is finished. Purina, please keep making this line of food! It’s been a lifesaver for us.
As an additional tip, installing a couple of floor-mounted air purifiers in the cats’ room with easy to clean filters, actually removing the hair from the filter regularly, and weekly detailed vacuuming/wet mopping has helped tremendously with my allergies in conjunction with this food. These things on their own without the food did not make a noticeable difference.

I’ve been feeding my cat the Purina Pro Plan LIVECLEAR Salmon and Rice formula for about six months now, and I’m seeing some positive results. The main reason I switched was to try and reduce allergens since my family is sensitive to cat dander. While it’s too early for any medical confirmation, I’ve noticed fewer sneezes and watery eyes around the house, which is promising.
My cat took to the salmon flavor quickly — no fussing or picky behavior at all. The kibble size is appropriate for adult cats, and it seems to digest well with no stomach upset or noticeable changes in litter box habits.
It’s also reassuring that the food is high in protein, which aligns with my vet’s recommendations for maintaining lean muscle mass. Overall, it’s a solid option if you want to try an allergen-reducing formula that your cat will actually eat.

Original, amazing and only reason I have a cat, me and my brother are extremely highly allergic. We are not able to atleast love in the same house and play together. We still cannot put our faces into his fur haha. But u get me.

I have always had cat allergies to the point where I could only stay at friends houses who own cats for 1-2 hours before having to leave due to not being able to breath or getting puffy eyes. I decided to make a dumb decision and foster a cat and had some issues with my allergies, but my cat was such a perfect fit that i couldn’t not make her part of my family. So in conjunction with an air purifier (somewhat helps) and Purina Live Clear I am able to live with my cat completely allergy free. I have been feeding my cat for about a year on this food with no issues, she seems to enjoy it and they have many other options now (Ex. different flavors and formulations). My cat isn’t very active so i will be switching her from the high protein to the weight loss formula on my next order. Surprisingly this food is not expensive at all either. I subscribe to save some money and purchase the largest bag that has lasted me a half year using an automatic feeder. It seems to cost me about $10 per month. I hope they can add some wet food options in the future.
Overall, this actually works well and I never thought I would be able to own a cat. My cat’s hair gets everywhere and she will occasionally lay on me or my face and I still have no issues at all.

Cat food actually has diminished sensitivity for visiting family members that have allergies to cat dander and my kitty likes the taste. Only negative is the cost.
