…about this product SOONER! Brace yourself, this is a lengthy, in-depth review. *raises hand* Hi, my name is Ashley, and I am a skincare-aholic 😆. I’m 40 years old. During my youth (14 years old – early 20’s), I consistently had dry skin which now looking back, I attribute to my unknowingness of proper skincare products 👀 circa 90’s Sea Breeze and Oxy Pads I’m looking at you 👀 and routine. At approximately 25 years old to present, I began having combination skin that is slightly dry around my mouth and chin and my T-zone mildly oily. Within the last 10 years or so, it has become relatively sensitive and a vast array of cosmetic ingredients/products now cause me to break out when they once did not. I began having to wash my face twice a day, everyday, in the A.M. and P.M. In the morning upon awakening, the surface of my face feels a little heavy(?) and congested. The feeling is difficult to explain; it just feels icky and unclean. I have very very tiny closed comedone bumps around the hormonal zone of my mouth and chin. Though small, a few are large enough to detect by sight which affect the texture of that area and if I push my tongue against the inside of my mouth in that area, many can be seen. Obviously I don’t walk around in public doing that like a weirdo lol but I do at home while inspecting my face and they drive me to near insanity. Over the past two years, this year especially, I’ve noticed that the elasticity in my face (even more so behind my chin at the top of my neck) has begun to change and the inevitable declination of middle aged skin has emerged. I used to be able to extract the tiny closed comedone bumps with ease, but now it has become much more difficult. I am successful at extracting some, but truthfully more often than not, I wind up pushing the comedone deeper into my pore causing a cystic blemish. One to two times a month, without extraction, I get a LARGE hormonal cystic blemish that have a cluster of whiteheads (does anyone else loathe that word and find it as gross as I do? 😂) underneath the skin. These blemishes are far too deep to extract and it seems like every single time I start to, like clockwork, my husband enters my bathroom, sees me, and says, “Baaaaabe…babe! STOP. Leave it alone. You’re going to create a wound and then be upset with yourself for doing so. Aaaashleyyyyy! Leave 👏🏻 it 👏🏻 alone 👏🏻!” But I caaaan’t 😩 so of course he is right and I get extremely frustrated, angry, and upset with myself for creating a wound the size of Jupiter and then ultimately causing hyperpigmentation that takes forever to fade. I have a routine which consists of cleanser, toner, serum (enter this product), moisturizer, and sunscreen. Holy shizznit! I LOVE this serum! When I pump it onto my fingertips the amount is perfect as a little goes a long way. It is very thin and slides over my skin smoothly and effectively. I usually dispense one more pump and gently rub it into my neck and décolleté. Soon after rubbing it in it’s as if my skin begins to gulp it down. There is zero scent. I’ve been using it now for exactly 4 weeks and I shiz you not, my husband has commented on my skin numerous times. His exact words – “Your skin looks amazing babe, seriously, did you change something? I’ve never seen it look so clear and smooth. Did you get Botox or something???” Hahaha! Omg I love him so much. I told him I switched to a new serum and it appears my skin digs it. Also, I don’t know why, but my comedones have disappeared and I have not had one single breakout. I’m not blowing smoke up your butts and it’s certainly not smoke and mirrors so it has to be this product in conjunction with the others. After application, along with my other products, my silicone based foundation glides on smoothly and my face is adorned with a dewy supple glow. My skin looks so good that my husband asked me to buy it for him and HE loves it too. Now that he has been using it for close to three weeks his skin has transformed as well. He has very sensitive and reactive skin that becomes easy irritated and red. He has relatively large pores and gets maybe 1 pimple every 3 months. He has zero redness or flaky irritated skin and his pores have notably reduced in size. We have been married 14 years (together 17 years total) and I have never seen his skin look so smooth and radiant! He absolutely loves it this product as well. I would like to note that this is my own personal review and I have not been asked to provide one which I find happens a lot. I just wanted to share my thoughts and opinions. I cannot speak on whether or not you will have the same results, but I truly hope you do because this stuff is incredible and has transformed my skin. Have a beautiful day!

Vale, vamos al grano. Llevo un historial de guerra con el acné que ríete tú de los combates épicos de “El Señor de los Anillos”. He probado mil potingues, desde mejunjes que huelen a disolvente industrial hasta productos que prometen la piel de un bebé pero te dejan como si hubieras dormido en un parque bajo la lluvia. Spoiler: no funcionan. Así que, en mi desesperación (y con mi cara rogando piedad), decidí darle una oportunidad a este COSRX Niacinamide 5% + Snail Mucin 74% Dual Essence.

🔥 Lo mejor que le ha pasado a mi piel desde que dejé el azúcar (mentira, no lo he dejado)
Primero lo primero: ¡La niacinamida! Mi mejor amiga ahora. Lo de “controlar el sebo y calmar la inflamación” no es un mito. En cuanto me lo pongo, noto cómo los granitos que han decidido abrir un Airbnb en mi cara empiezan a cancelar sus reservas. Además, la combinación con la baba de caracol (sí, lo sé, suena asqueroso, pero si funciona, me la unto sin preguntar) es mágica. No solo me calma las rojeces, sino que noto que la textura de mi piel ha mejorado.

¿Efectos secundarios? Ninguno. A no ser que quieras contar como efecto secundario que, ahora que mi piel está más suave, paso demasiado tiempo tocándomela.

🐌✨ Mejor que la esencia sola: lo digo por experiencia
Hace tiempo probé la esencia de baba de caracol sola (también de COSRX, porque soy fiel cuando algo no me destroza la cara). Funcionaba bien, no voy a mentir, pero esta combinación con niacinamida… supera todas las expectativas. No solo noto una mejoría en los granitos, sino que la piel apagada y sin vida que tenía antes parece que ha vuelto de unas vacaciones en el Caribe.

Conclusión: no vuelvo atrás. Es como comparar una pizza congelada con una recién hecha en horno de piedra.

💀 ¿Oscuridad en mi vida pre-COSRX? No más, gracias
Antes de esto, mis días eran una tragedia griega de acné e inflamación. Ahora, no es que mi vida sea un musical de Disney, pero al menos no tengo que batallar contra nuevas colonias de granos cada mañana. Las cicatrices van desapareciendo lentamente, como el ex que te deja de escribir (gracias, universo), y mi piel ya no parece un mapa topográfico.
