I was looking for some simple, well-made water bottles with around 20 oz. capacity and found these. US made, family shop, excellent price. Took a chance and ordered a six-pack of ’em. Got them, washed them, filled them, put in fridge, laying on their sides in drawer, watching for leaks.
No leaks from main lid or pull-up. These are actually heavier duty and better made than I was expecting. Shouild be quite durable. Nothing at all fancy or fashionable, but as basic utility water bottles they are excellent. The “pinch” around the middle greatly improves grip, especially when wet. Very pleased!
(I got the “clear” so I can visually inspect what’s inside. Better IMHO for keeping them clean and safe.)

Bought what we thought was the same 2+ years ago, but blue with fluorescent green tops – liked them a lot, but they started leaking after 2-3 years, probably from frequent freezing (we like cold water on our bike rides). Couldn’t re-buy the blue ones, so bought grey. These are not quite as sturdy, so hoping they’ll be OK, but one had a threaded top that appeared to have been cut or shaved down – top won’t fit on it.
So, five out of six look to be OK – not as good as previous batch we bought, but hoping for the best. We like the size, the grip, and we will keep freezing, even though we know it will lessen life of product. Works well for us. The product is acceptable and good — wish we got all six, but we’ll make five of them work.

These water bottles have a really good makeup, as in the bottles feel nice and firm. I love that the cap fits snug as there is no leakage from the cap. The nozzle opens and closes easily but has not opened during travel, whether lose in my car or in the filled to the max lunch bag that carries both my husbands and mine lunches. The reason for the low stars is because I use dawn dish soap which is a low abrasive and a good cleaner but after cleaning the bottles in dawn they now taste like soap. I have tried to rewash by hand and putting in the top rack of my dishwasher, which the paper that was sent with the bottles said was ok, and i can not for the life of me get the soap taste out of the bottles. I tried to soak in a vinegar/ water mixture, handwash with different dish soap, run the dishwasher with and without soap and i still can not get the soap/funky taste out. I really like the makeup of these bottles so if anyone has an idea to throw at me to get my water to not taste like soap or any product i uses taste please send it my way so i dont have to throw out these bottles.

This 2-pack is simple and just works. These are basic water bottles, don’t expect them keep your water cold. These will fit in a standard bike bottle holder.

I bought these 2 years ago. Still using them 2-10 times a month. They hold up well. Highly recommend these

These water bottles are great and work super good in a cycling water bottle rack. Even after putting them in the dishwasher, the lids still seal well and they do not leak. The bottles fit wells in a standard car cup holder also.

The most impressive part of the 50 Strong bottle is that they are a small family owned business from Ohio and all of the products are made right here in the USA. It’s a well made and priced bottle that fits both of my different bike cages. I will definitely consider purchasing more of their products in the future.

This product is advertised as food grade. I’m no longer sure what that means in USA. If the FDA or NSF or whatever other federal government agency is allowing these types of products to be sold as “food grade”, then God help us. I’ve been cycling for 20 years and gave it up several years ago. But I’ve decided to get back into it so needed to purchase new bottles. After several failed attempts at getting a healthy bottle option, I came across these. Made in the USA. Food grade plastic. OK, sounds good. However, my issue is that if the material is food grade, why on earth is it off-gassing so much when closed and sitting in the cupboard for a day after being properly washed in soap and dried? If it is off-gassing, it must also be leaching something into the water. Indeed, both my wife and I agreed that our PUR filtered water tastes completely different when we drank it from this bottle during a recent workout (not in a good way!)
At any rate, based on my years of experience cycling and using drink bottles for that specific purpose, there is no way that I would ever use this type of smelly bottle for any drink consumption purpose. My search continues, but clearly “USA made” doesn’t mean much in terms of food safety, IMHO.
