Have been using the Brother printer for several months now. It has performed very well, no matter what I required it to print. It is easy to operate and has many options that can be used when printing. The color printing is accurate and provides great copies of work and certificates

Purchased the printer for light duty home office paperwork. Easy setup. Print right front your phone through the app. The best part is the ink won’t dry out like an ink jet printer!

Brother continues to make great all-in-one printer/scanners. Color laser so you don’t have to worry about your ink going dry. 2-sided printing. No “security” features to prevent you from using 3rd-party toners. Wonderful scanner (although this model doesn’t support 2-sided scanning). Nice wireless network connectivity (although I personally wish it also had wired network connectivity. It is wireless ONLY.)

Great all in one machine! I use the scanner/printer functions the most and they’re great! Wi-Fi setup was a breeze – the first and only time I’ve been able to say that about a printer!

Casual home user/homeschooling projects. We had a black and white printer but just needed the option for color for certain projects. This works well, prints good enough quality for our use. Wireless connection works without problems. It seems to take a little bit to fire up and get going when first printing but overall the print speed is acceptable and does not affect my opinion. Haven’t tried generic cartridges yet as the starter cartridges are still going well.

Amazingly easy printer to set up.I’m a geek so it was easy for me.But compared to my HP Office jet it was a breeze.I highly recommend it.Lazer printers are a lot better for you anyway. It prints, copy and scans like a champ its big and heavy, but well made!.I may get rid of my HP Printers, they are a pain in the neck to set up!

Very nice. Works perfectly. Easy to use. Large capacity toner seems expensive, but consider the amount of printing you get out of them.

I tested a lot of machines, including HP machines, many of which are going out of stock, but are still being sold because HP is getting out of a certain line of printer business – buyer beware and look it up if you don’t believe me – and I finally settled on this mid priced monster of a machine, which works perfectly fine despite its really heavy weight. This is a very solid laser printer that is not particularly speedy, but is incredibly solidly built and easy to set up. Its software interface is pretty clunky. It’s software interface is pretty clunky. It must be said and they haven’t spent a lot of time or tech To make it more user attractive, unlike HP, which has very good printer software – but then again they tried to use it by trapping you to use their cartridges, only which is not the case with Brother – And that is where HP got in trouble. The print rate is a bit slow, but again very consistent. On the whole you got the impression this thing is built to last. No problems so far. Time will tell. Other printers are much lighter, including the outgoing HP models which they are winding down, but those were very thin and lightly built – I refer to the ink jet models and their 9000 series Better for college kids than small businesses whereas this is certainly built to last for smaller businesses I would say.

Great unit and I’m definitely a convert from HP to Brother now. Difference between next model up and thus one is this unit does not support duplex scanning (2 sided scanning) and does 19 pages per min compared to the 31 pages the next model up does for $299 more. Good buy for $499.

***Update after several months with a new reason this printer is the worst thing ever…. it counts pages, not toner. When the printer “thinks” the toner is empty, it just stops printing. There is no way to reset the page counts (unlike in previous Brother printers). There is no way to bypass this. You can’t just print in black and white when a color cartidge is out. It just stops. There is no printing until you install a new cartridge. So, make sure you have plenty on hand because this sucker will stop and there’s nothing you can do about it. If you are mid-big presentation or report? Too bad. Stop and go to the store because this printer won’t budge. These toner cartridges have “chips” on them now in order to prevent you from reseting the page count. And get this: it counts pages if you aren’t printing in black and white! You can lift it out and feel how heavy it is and know there is plenty of toner in there but – nope! You printed too many pages so now your printer won’t let you do anything. All to make you have to spend a gazillion dollars on new toner cartridges even though you probably have months left of toner. Ridiculous. This is the worst product I have ever purchased. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
I should have listened to the reviews. This printer stopped working after 7 months. Never was able to get the bluetooth stuff to work. Two days ago I got an error message saying I had installed a “non-genuine toner cartridge” when I had not changed anything or touched any toner since receiving it. It was still the original toner it came with. It wouldn’t let me move past the error message to continue printing (unless I wanted to “void my warranty,” which I was not going to do since it was already having issues). Off to customer service I go! The first attempt with customer service resulted in a disconnection (the agent just stopped responding… good times). He said I could just click “no” and keep right on printing, but the video shows that was not the case. After that he just disappeared and didn’t respond anymore so I had to start a new chat with another agent. The next agent at least tried, but took an hour, had me disassembling the dang thing, and didn’t solve any problems. They are sending me a new cyan cartridge, but I’m not feeling confident. I still can’t print and am still seeing an error message. Just really, really bad. Don’t buy it.
