Caution: company is not honoring the five-year warranty. As I write this review, you are able to download a pdf copy of the warranty from within the amazon product description. The company refers to the bottom portion of this vacuum as a “floor nozzle” (i.e., the part that you roll along the floor, which contains the brush, belt, small motor and electronic circuitry). This is the part that failed on our unit after 2 years and 8 months. It is a major part of the vacuum, not a consumable item, yet the company is excluding it from being covered. The warranty is written in a pretty straightforward manner. If you take the time to read it, you will see no language that could possibly be interpreted to exclude a major part such as the floor nozzle. It almost appears as if they have accumulated enough positive reviews to disregard the promises of their warranty and/or the effects of a negative review like this one…perhaps if enough people click that this review is helpful, it will rise to a prominent position so that more buyers can make an informed decision. Following is a transcript of my conversation with their customer service for your own assessment:

(04:51:19 PM) Joe P: I have a Shark Rotator Professional (NV 501 31) purchased from amazon on 12/8/2014 with 5 year warranty. Brush does not spin and it is not belt. Called your warranty service department and confirmed via troubleshooting procedures that it I am doing everything correctly and that it is not working. Person I spoke with then stated that the part would not be covered. Before I contact amazon and/or leave a review, I wanted to confirm that the warranty would not be honored.

(05:00:07 PM) Joe P: The problem I’m having is that the warranty does not exclude that item, and I believe that other reviewers on amazon claimed to have had it replaced under the warranty. It does not seem legal the way the warranty is worded. At a minimum, it is highly misleading.

Love this vacuum! It is lightweight, easily maneuverable, and the suction is amazing. We have 4 dogs, 6 grandsons, and I have a ton of hair on top of all the traffic. This vacuum has pulled so much dirt and hair out of my carpets. It looks like I’ve never vacuumed but I have soapy times! The vacuum I did have just wasn’t cutting it in more ways than one and it was very obvious once we used this one! I recommend 100%!

Really great suction and brush removes pet hair like a champ. We have many animals and we’ve worn out 3 Shark vacuums over the years. This is a great vacuum and not too heavy. Easy to assemble. Perfect size. Easy to empty although the changed that part a bit. Great for pet hair! Hope this one lasts for years, like my others. I can go over my carpet twice and get every bit of pet hair.

Tengo 2 años con el y no he tenido ningun problema con el funcionamento. Lo que si es que hay que darle el mantenimiento de limpieza a las esponjas para que no el motor no se apague. Es un producto bastante bueno!!!! Vale la pena pagarlo!

I have been dealing with another vacuum for months. After multiple complaints to the husband about my bad back breaking using the vacuum he decided to test it. He was literally appalled that I had been pushing, lifting, and dealing with such a heavy vacuum so he ordered this one. Wow my back is so grateful it is very lightweight.
This has been like a heaven sent vacuum it is so lightweight. It is picking up the dog hair and dirt fantastically. We have five dogs so I deal with a ton of hair and this vacuum has gotten it up no problem. Easy to maneuver and it has a canister that is simple to empty.
I guess if I have to find a complaint it would be that I wish it had longer accessories. I have to bend over quite a bit to brush the dog beds. I have had multiple back surgeries so this is uncomfortable. It has a great crevis tool that again I have to bend over far to use.
This is overall a fantastic machine that gets up tons of dirt. It is offered at a great price. Having five dogs and one messy husband I would say it has been tested in my home and works great. We have all tile floors in our home, five dogs, and the suction power is strong.

This is, without a doubt, the best vacuum I’ve ever had. I have a Great Pyrenees mix who sheds like nothing I’ve ever seen, and her fur tends to get stuck in and tangled up with the carpet fibers. I used to have to vacuum every day to keep up with it. When my Bissell finally broke, I gave this a try and I was bewildered. It was pulling hair out of the carpet from my dog who passed away 9 months ago. Not to mention more dirt than I’d ever seen in any other vacuum I’ve used! It’s light and easy to carry and gets the job done.

You have no idea how many vacuums I’ve been through, being a bit of a clean freak and somewhat obsessed with a clean carpet. We have two small dogs that seem to shed their body weight in fur weekly, and my daughter and her friends trek through after their almost daily visits to the beach. The carpet is nowhere near new, but manages to look decent with the help of this particular vacuum. The suction is very strong still after almost a year, and I have to turn it down on the area rugs. The floor looks and feels cleaner and softer after use. I really like the hatch that opens and makes removing clogs sooo simple. The bin is easy to empty and wash out if needed. It’s a little heavy, but I like that because it doesn’t seem flimsy, and wand removal with the push of a button and all the right attachments makes cleaning hard floors and hard to reach places a breeze. I would buy it again, but I don’t think I have to worry about that for a good long time.

Awesome vacuum for the money. Lightweight, attachments are easy to use and conveniently placed and retractable. I had a Dyson stick vacuum before this. This vacuum picked up an entire bin of dirt right after I ran the Dyson stick vacuum. Works u believably well! Relatively compact and easy to store as well

Una recomendacion para la compañia productora SHARK es : mejorar la forma de asegurar los accesorios para evitar el constante estorbo de ellos al estar aspirando. La solucion a esto como usuario es de sencillamente quitar dichos accesorios pero, lo practico es tenerlos siempre cercanos a uno !!
