Donna in NC –
I learned of this vacuum from my sister, and had a chance to use hers while I was considering a purchase. My in-house vacuum eventually failed, and I wanted a less expensive but quality alternative. I loved my sister’s so much—an older model—that I promptly ordered this one. It’s very lightweight, maneuvers really well on a variety of surfaces, is quiet, yet captures dust/dirt wonderfully. It came sturdily packaged, and was easy to use from the start. It’s made a Miele fan of me!

This vacuum packs a lot of power in its small and lightweight body. It is super easy to take from room to room. The cord is easily retractable by a button that can be depressed with your foot. I have used this vacuum on carpet and hard floors, works great on both. It has great suction power. I have also used the upholstery attachment to vacuum my couch, its great at removing the animal hair and the dirt. I also use the round brush to dust my baseboards…. which really saves me a lot of time. It is a bit on the pricey side; however, it was worth every cent. I would highly recommend.

After more than a year of researching vacuums, I finally landed on the Miele Classic C1 Turbo Team, and wow — should’ve pulled the trigger sooner.
The suction is incredible, the cord is nice and long, and it’s surprisingly easy to maneuver and carry from room to room. Changing the bag is quick and clean — no clouds of dust flying around like with my old vacuum.
Best of all, it handles the two toughest tests in our house: our Pomeranian’s endless fluff and my teenage daughter’s hair. Both used to clog or defeat every vacuum we owned, but this Miele tackles them like a champ, leaving our floors and rugs spotless.
If you’re on the fence, don’t overthink it. This vacuum is powerful, reliable, and well-designed — worth every penny and then some.

First off, I’m a tough reviewer. In general, I don’t believe in 5 star reviews unless the product is really excellent at its function or an incredible value. If the product does what it says and costs a normal amount of money, that’s a 4 star review in my book.
Background: I live in a 2 bedroom apartment, which is 50% hardwood, 25% tile and 25% medium pile carpet. I also have area carpets in the living spaces that are medium-low pile. I don’t have any pets, but my fiancee has long hair. I am getting a cat soon – I will update this review when I have tried out the vacuum on cat hair.
EDIT: I’ve had the cat for 2 months now. Vacuum picks up cat hair on my couch and carpet pretty well. I don’t have to re-vacuum any areas as far as I can tell. When doing furniture, I have to clean the attachments fairly often, but that’s to be expected. No change to this review.
Functions:
Hardwood – Fantastic
This thing has great suction. It cleans super easily and the parquet floorhead is effective.
Carpet – Good
The Turboteq carpet brush head cleans the carpets pretty well. There are multiple suction settings and the device recommends a lower suction setting for carpets. I have found I get better results going slower on a lower suction mode than turning up the suction. The suction is very powerful – it will pull up on area rugs. You have to maintain an acute angle with the handle and push forward and slightly down to move the brush head over carpet. Even then it takes a little bit of force. Moving it backwards doesn’t work nearly as well. In heavily soiled areas, you may need multiple passes – the runner carpet in the hallway needed 2 or 3 passes.
Furniture – The attachments for furniture and upholstery work pretty well. Depending on your furniture you may have to turn the suction down past the furniture setting to the curtain setting. I have not tried to clean my curtains with this vacuum.
Usability – Pretty good
The main issues with usability are simply with canister vacuums. You have to move the canister, clean that area, and then move the canister again. If you’re using the floorheads at specific angles or direction, you may have to set up the canister so the hose is pointing in a useful direction because the hose is a little too short. It is surprising how often you need to consider how to optimize the orientation. The floor and brush heads have lots of rotation but it does not mitigate this problem much. The cord is very long so you can generally always maneuver the vac where you need it to be, but the hose could probably be longer. I will probably be checking in a few months for a longer compatible hose if this continues to annoy me.
There are other small usability issues that I would say could be engineered away. The carpet brush head has two notches across it so you can cut hair off. However, over the middle of the brush head, there is a section that the notches are inaccessible because of the brush head bristles. Both notches are inaccessible in the same area from the bristles. It would have been easy to modify the bristle pattern so over the entirety of the brushhead there was at least one notch that work. However, I will say that the notch does work very well when you can use it. The holder for the attachments is also in a slightly inconvenient location as it slightly messes with the tubes.
Otherwise the usability is great. Everything assembles easily and it’s easy to change the bags. It’s small and easy to store
Quality – Great
I haven’t had this vacuum long, but I’m a mechanical engineer who has designed consumer products. I can tell this uses quality materials. The brush head has plastic moving parts, but when inspecting them while cutting hair out, I can tell it is a glass-impregnated plastic for wear resistance. I was able to cut hairs away from it with a normal pocket knife (not a razor blade/hobby knife) without scratching it. I was being careful, but a cheap ABS part would have been scratched up easily. I am impressed by this product’s engineering and quality.
Overall – 4 stars
I have written mostly positive things, and the negative things are minor. However, I am only giving this 4 stars, because this ain’t cheap. $400 is a lot of money for a vacuum, and while it does the job, it doesn’t perform its functions unbelievably well. However, it definitely seems built to last. If it is truly as durable as it should be for this price, maybe it is deserving of 5 stars. But if I’m paying $400 for an appliance, I don’t want slight usability issues or need to make multiple passes on carpet. However, I’m not unhappy with my purchase at all. I recommend this for apartment dwellers who are willing to spend a little more time cleaning with a canister vac to get good cleaning results.

Great vacuum. I bought it for my son and daughter in law as a gift and they’re so impressed with the quality and function. They say it’s the best vacuum they have had.

This vacuum is quite powerful, the Turboteq head works very well on our short carpets and being air powered, if you run over a cord or something that you shouldn’t, the spinner thing stops without causing damage to anything. Our old vacuum, if the head got jammed, it would immediately start burning the belt or destroying whatever you ran over. I think the dial that adjusts the speed is brilliant. You only really need half power to get the job done most of the time. This makes it super quiet and saves electricity – yet you have that extra power if you need it. Some vacuums have more bells and whistles, but that’s more stuff that can go wrong. The Miele performs very well, has all the features you will ever need and seems like it will last for a couple decades.

I recently bought the Miele Classic C1 Turbo for my house cleaning business, and I’m beyond impressed. Compared to the Kenmore I used before, this vacuum is so much lighter and easier to carry around, especially when cleaning multiple houses a day. The suction power is excellent, it feels durable, and the design makes the work a lot less tiring. Highly recommend for both professional cleaners and home use!

I replaced an almost 20 yr old Kenmore vacuum which as I got older found it very heavy to move around and the overall performance had diminished. I ordered the Turbo so I could get both floor attachments — for hardwood and carpet — and so far I am very pleased with my new vacuum. The hardwood floor attachment wasn’t great so I ordered the parquet twister and that made all the difference. I wish it had come as an option with my original purchase. The suction is amazing, it’s very quiet and lightweight. Everything I need in a good cleaning assistant! I’d buy another however hoping this lasts me 20 yrs!

I absolutely love this vacuum! It is very difficult to find a canister vacuum with a dedicated power nozzle for carpets that really works. Out of the box, it took only minutes to assemble. It is light yet solid. The turbo power nozzle glides easily over my carpets – the hard floor attachment is also ‘just right’ and is simple and quick to change out. It took just a short while for my rugs and floors to look and feel freshly cleaned. I am very pleased with this purchase so far!

We’ve had the C1 Turbo for about 45 days. It is an excellent product. It is very light, about 9 pounds, so it is easy to move around the house with and also carry. It is light but made very well. The product exudes quality manufacturing and it is easy to use and very intuitive to use. The attachments and hose are well-made and easy to change out. The dial knob adjusts the suction. We keep it at about 40% and it has more than enough suction. Since we have hardwood floors we ordered an extra attachment for hardwood although the parquet floor attachment that came with it would have been sufficient. I have a Dyson V8 also. This is made better than the Dyson and is cheaper. We are also going to stay with the Miele OEM bags and filters. They last a long time.
