I’m in Florida and I have vacant lots to either side of the property so I have issues with vines encroaching on the fence. Got this little darling to help cut them back.
Positives: Wicked sharp teeth and the angle of the blade makes slicing through small and medium sized vines a breeze. Very maneuverable with its small size and light weight. Also works great on grasses.
Cons: It isn’t going to be durable. I’d rather buy a new one at this price point than try and sharpen this blade when it gets dull and the way the blade is fitted into the haft doesn’t seem like it will handle a lot of stress.
That being said I’m happy with the purchase and will gladly buy another when this one breaks or wears out.
I’ve used it for about two hours and already feel like I’ve gotten value for my dollar.

This is quite the hand tool–sharp as can be and quick though stalks. Not sure how it will hold up to my use and abuse as it is light to the point of seeming delicate, but so far so good. A word of obvious advice, though: respect this blade: do not leave it exposed or out of sight without some cover or protection, as it can trim a finger as quickly as a stalk of grass. As always, my hat goes off to the beauty and efficiency of the creations of Japanese artisans and culture.

Perfect for trimming my Banana Trees! Easily slices through the fibrus leaves and trunk layers. Have also used it to trim up other smaller branches on my Hybiscus and other vine type of plants in the yard. Easier on the hand than having to use a clipper all the time, and works much better than clippers on my Banana Trees for sure.
