A basic hand tool used in the yard, but locating one that was well-made for a reasonable price was a challenge. This fits the bill for both criteria. Would purchase again!

This arrived today. I removed it from the package and my wife and I both thought it looked like a good, solid tool. I impulsively reached around and used it to scratch my back and the blade came off of the handle; one of the spot welds failed. I do some welding and to my eye, the spot welds look inadequate. What a joke! I’m trying to decide if I want to return it for another (though clearly they’re ALL spot welded in two places, epoxy it, repair it mechanically (drill a couple of holes and use some bolts) or just get a refund.
Update 8/10/2020: The JB weld repair worked for a number of days of use but failed today. I tried drilling some holes through the handle with the idea of taping some threads and attaching the blade to the handle that way but the handle metal is either very hard or my bits are very dull. I didn’t have the patience to follow up with that repair. I’ve ordered a different hand hoe from Hope Depot. I may try to braze this together but all in all, I’m astonished that some buyers have had it hold together. Two small spot welds only for fixing the blade to the handle. NOT recommended!

The hoe itself if okay. The handle slipped off the hoe the first time I used it. My husband glued it on for me. He said that the plastic does not bond well to metal. also the top of the handle of the hoe also pulled off…this is the part that holds the ring in which to hang the hoe from a hook. I am not returning it since my husband has glued the handle on for me. He said he will make a wooden handle for me if it comes off again. It is just the right size for my hand. I cannot hold heavy weights..so if the the manufacture would make some modifications the hoe would be great.

I have purchased garden tools online before that just didn’t hold up to the job. This tool is very well made and heavy enough to really dig in and root out the weeds. The metal is strong and won’t bend and the handle is nicely designed and easy to grip. I still don’t like pulling weeds but this will help with the task.

The handle broke away from the hoe the second time I used it. I put it back together but it continues to come apart. It is easy to use, lightweight, and very sharp. I will try gluing it together instead of returning it.

The unit looks far bigger than the actual size. What I got was a toy. Next time you should put a size in cm on the add. How long is it. How wide is the head.

The Rocky Mountain hoe I purchased is absolutely tremendous. It is a small hoe and I use it in my garden and it will last a lifetime as it made from stainless steel. I originally bought their trowel to help with weeding and was tremendously impressed. I now am doubly impressed with both items. A really handy tool for the garden at a really great price.

When I read other people’s review, I read things like “the blade is too small”, and the reviewer gives a lower rated review. Being a tool guy, there is the perfect tool for every occasion. Sometimes a 6” -8” hoe blade works best but sometime a +/- 4” blade works best, depending on the project you are working on. For me, I have found several projects in the past three weeks where this size tool was perfect.
The tool is very strong. I own two other Edwards hand tools and I love them. I did read the comments about the handle coming apart, but bought the product anyway. In my case, the handle did come apart (see picture). I spend two minutes, mixed up some epoxy glue, smeared it onto the opening with a q-tip, and the product is back to being a 5.0 product. Rating it a 4.0 is too harsh, but there is no in between. Even with the handle issue, the product is still a 4.7.
The ring on the end of the handle is a great feature, allowing to yo easily hook it onto a pegboard hook.
And I like supporting small businesses. Without Amazon, you would never know these products existed.

This is a very well made hoe and does a great job for close up work, it came very well wrapped and in very good time I am happy I purchased this tool

This hand hoe is a useful tool for smaller space gardening. The handle is ergonomically shaped and the stainless steel means it will look good for years. I bought it to make furrows in my raised beds for planting. A trowel or a hand cultivator are not the tool to make a neat row. This does the trick and works nicely to top the weeds at ground level without disturbing the roots of my plants.
