I purchased this item to get a head start on my 12.5 year old Golden Retriever’s summer shave. I have a groomer that comes to the house and grooms him but as he is getting older he is having difficulty standing up for the long period of time needed to shave him. This shaver allows me to get a head start over several evenings while he is comfortable on the floor laying down. I get him partially shaved or trimmed and the groomer tidies him up when she comes so he doesn’t have to stand or sit for long periods. It does work very well and I oil it right before each time I use it. The only issue I have found is I am not terribly fond of the attachments/guards that go on the shaver as they tend to cause the hair to bind up even after 1 line. I do shave in line with the hair or going with the hair not against the grain and clean out any visual hair after each pass. I also would have placed the on/off button elsewhere as I often bump it with my finger. I know this sounds bad but that is just a small issue. This shaver does an excellent job at shaving the different types of hair my dog has.

It worked well on trimming the mats from my Himalayan cat’s body. Over the years have owned several electric pet trimmers and this is the best, regardless of price. The noise level was a little higher than I expected from the advertising, but not a deal-breaker. I recommend this product.

Immediately use this product on my 65lbs Goldendoodle as soon as it arrives. I usually don’t write reviews about a product but was so I impressed with this clipper. My doodle was so matted up that it jammed my other lightweight clipper but this clipper just glides through like a ski and shaved all the matted curly Goldendoodle hair with no issues, no jamming, no struggles on the dog or me operating this clipper. I have 2 large goldendoodle and I use this particular clipper on both of them on the same day. No issues whatsoever at all. The electric cord is long enough that I could walk around the table easily. Easy to handle the clipper and the speed knob how fast or slow you like on your dog. I started slow speed and build up as I go trimming them, I think my doodles enjoyed it coz it glides gently and smoothly on their skin and it doesn’t overheat, I had to pause coz my arms were tired 😀 trimming 2 doodles by myself at home. I would strongly recommend this clipper for doodles or dogs with thick coat of hair. I am really impressed with this clipper. I use oil for the blade and blow it out the hair inside the blade to keep it clean. I think my doodles love this clipper because they were so calm and relaxed when I was trimming them. The noise level was low that it didn’t bother them at all.This is money well spent on this clipper and it saved me a lot of money from taking my 2 doodles to the groomer which is ridiculously expensive. I would definitely buy this clipper again and never switch to another brand of dog clipper. I am very pleased with my purchase. ❤️❤️❤️ So grateful that I purchased this clipper.

Just the right amount of power for my large (Shepard coat) and small (Doodle) dogs. Not too loud but powerful enough to do the job. I use the number 3 clipper and it works well on the feet (pads) and as an overall coat trimmer. Keep the angel level and you are off to the races. Much better than the cordless alternative I was using prior to buying these. The cord is not the issue I thought it might be.

Do not waste your money on the wireless, rechargeable ones. I have a labradoodle with curly thick hair and have tried the cordless ones for a few months, those are weak and constantly tangle in my dogs coat so I decided to make a change to this one and oh boy did it deliver. It glides through the goat with ease and has aver me much frustration. Definitely recommend especially if you have a dog with a thick coat

My Shihtzu was a bit of a mess before cutting, the breed has hair not fur and lots of down which mats easily. So when I first started using this clippers this evening I struggled a bit and it took a long time to get a cut because he was overloaded. I found that removing the gauge guard helped to cut through his thick heavy coat, a simple brush then trimming up against the hair direction worked. The clippers are really sharp but by design do not cut skin as I tested it on my hand. The pictures show a nice cut, so now I’ve got a decent pair of clippers I’ll trim him regularly. The multi speed function is good and the lead length is exceptional. It comes with 4 length guides, a spare blade, oil and a brush. The length guides are easily clipped on and off as needed. Some reviews state the guides slip off but they don’t if you attach them properly. I’m happy with this product.

I have a shihtzu and wirh the Guards on it didn’t cut her hair at all , i am a hair stylist not a groomer but i wasnt too happy because basicly i had to give my dog a haircut trying to have a steady hand and i gave my dog nicks which i had other machines that had the guard and i do a better job. If you guys sell the guard with the teeth more separate not to close together will be great for any type of hair but those guard are way to closer
doesnt help cutting the hair. .. if u looking for a machine with guards that cut your shihtzu hair this are not the clippers. Now im stuck with this clippers had to figure out what can i do so i can used them they wasnt cheao either so please people i hope my comment help anybpdy out there so u dont waisted your money like i did .. once agaim great clippers but you dont want to give your dog a skin cut. Thats why is important to have good guards and tgis guard that came with the machines doesnt do nothing.

Wow, this works really good and my dog is part poodle and her hair get’s really matted. Does not pull on the hair cuts it quickly and with easy. My other clippers would pull on the hair making my dog less cooperative. This time around cutting hair was so much easier and less pull with no pain. Highly recommend. Just to think I have bought like four different cheap ones that did not work should invested in this long time ago.
