PlayStation DualSense® Wireless Controller – Midnight Black by PlayStation

Controller works great, just wanted to warn others that it actually looks more purple/blue iridescent than “Chrome Cobalt Blue” or whatever they called it.
My husband was expecting it to be more of a shiny cobalt blue color. We’re keeping it anyway, cause both of the PS5 controllers that came w/ our system started acting up around the same time. He’s just giving me this one & ordering the non-shiny blue one for himself, which I’m fine with. It is a really pretty color! Just a lot more purple than it looked like in the picture. The non-shiny bits are actually a dark plum or eggplant color, which matches the shiny part perfectly.

Controller is great.
There’s a negative review here that stated that their controller wouldn’t hold a charge, but they were lokely incorrect. I thought this too, so let me help you not make the same mistake as us.
The first time you use the controller, plug it into the PS5 using a USB-C cable. Turn on the PS5 using the console’s power button, not the controller’s. Only after the PS5 has booted and your controller activates its charging light should you power on the controller. This pairs it to your console. Your PS5 will likely prompt you to update the software of your controller. Go ahead and do so.
The other user and I both charged the controller and tried to hit the controller PS button to activate the console before pairing. This causes the controller to flash blue twice, then deactivate. It makes it appear as though it’s not holding a charge. In retrospect, it’s a silly mistake. But if there’s been two of us, there are bound to be more people who will encounter the same.
Beyond that, it’s a standard Dualsense controller. It works as it should.

The DualSense Wireless Controller offers a noticeable upgrade in feel and functionality compared to previous PlayStation models. The haptic feedback and adaptive triggers add a layer of immersion that works well in supported games. The textured grip and overall build quality feel premium, and the white finish gives it a sleek, modern look.
Connectivity is generally reliable via Bluetooth or USB-C, and the built-in microphone and speaker are convenient for quick chats. Battery life is decent, though not exceptional, heavy use may require frequent charging. Some users might find the controller slightly bulkier than older versions, and the touchpad still sees limited use in many titles.
Overall, it’s a well-designed controller that complements the PS5 experience, though it may not be a game-changer for everyone.

Great controller. Still works after months of near daily use. Barely getting stick drift, but not noticeable in many games. Only noticeable in games that have no deadzones for the analog stick. It is a pearly white color and looks white during the day. However when I took a picture of it, it really shows the pearly look.
