Edit: 5 stars after receiving new controller. Everything works as it should with no issue, right trigger stop feels solid. Top tier controller here.

I have to preface why i’m not giving this controller 5 stars.

The original controller I received was defective and had a right micro switch that would not read consistently after a day or so of use. I had to complete a return, and a month or so later I’ve decided to give it another go. It’s been rare for me to get multiple defective units back to back. So here we go.

The controller feels great in hand. I’m able to use my custom faceplates from gamesir like I can on the G7he & se, and they fit perfectly with the only exception being the cross d-pad being the only one which fits in the faceplate. Which to me is perfectly fine. It looks wrong on the G7pro, but perfect on the SE/HE face plate. It’s also awesome for fighting games and platformers. Which is a important feature I feel in a pro controller. A lot of companies skimp here.

Another feature Gamesir did not cheap out on is the software used to customize the controller. I’ve had over a dozen controllers in my hands the last few years, and this suite can not be beat. Easy to use and very user friendly. Can save 4 profiles and switch on the fly. Good stuff.

The thumbsticks feel great, and have a very high resolution and bit rate. A little loose for my liking, but it’s comparable to the Gamesir Cyclone 2. Which is great because the sticks on these controllers are maybe the best at maintaining a zero dead zone without stick drift. I’ve purchased many, many controllers over the past few years. A lot of controllers can boast about zero dead zone’s with no drift. Many do not live up to that title without some kind of software algorithm.

Wireless connectivity has been rock solid holding near 1000hz with little to no jitter on polling tests and no random disconnects. Wired is a bit quicker as to be expected. As long as the trigger stops hold up to prolonged use i will put this controller on a top tier list. However if you read around on reddit you see many of the same complaints. So it is a known issue. So far the 2nd control is holding up. If it’s still holding strong in a month or two I will upgrade my rating to 5 stars. As it is exceptional when all works as expected.

I don’t have an xbox so I wasn’t able to give it a test there, but you have access to all the same features outside of gyro control. So I doubt anybody will be disappointed with it outside of this model needing to be wired for it to work on XBOX.

Coming from multiple elite series controllers and having to replace them every year or so due to button defect, rubber grips coming off and stick drift. I thought it was a good time to the hall effect sticks are a game changer, literally. The one to one sense is amazing. The overall comfort of the controller is great even after long gaming sessions. If you’re serious about your hobby get one of these.

Stick drift was my main concern with previous controllers and having the piece of mind thay it won’t happen with this controller at a very good price point is just unbeatable

The controller feels great in hand and has good wireless connection.

You can download the app from the Microsoft store for free to control the uh controller.

You can test all the buttons out and even the vibration functions through the app as well as set up the macros.

The macros can also be set up though the controller itself.

I do like the lift to on function so when you pick the controller up from the charging base it turns on automatically and that can be changed through the free software.

The swapable D-Pad is a nice touch as well as the removeable face plate and sticks.

I do wish the rubber grip that’s on the back of the controller extended through to the front.

The ability flip a switch and change the way the triggers function is nice as well as being able to flip a switch and turn off the rear buttons if you don’t need them.

All I around I think this is a decent controller.

I’m no stranger to pro controllers and have used over half a dozen in the last 10 years. I look for build quality, durability, comfort, battery life and additional bottom buttons are a must. When I heard the Gamesir G7 Pro had a 1000hz polling rate with TMR sticks and mouse click buttons I was very interested. The price tag is surprising given the number of $200+ controllers I’ve purchased in the past for the same features.

On pc this controller is a major improvement over my elite series 2. The TMR sticks allow you to set stick dead zones to 0 with no stick drift. This makes the input incredibly responsive and perfect for a competitive edge when it matters. It’s taken a bit of time to get used to the additional bumper buttons rather than having 4 bottom buttons (think I still prefer 4 bottoms in most cases) but using the bumpers to swap weapons and reload feels intuitive. Controller is light weight and the triggers feel great. All materials are highly tactile and pleasing to use. Long battery life 10+ hour sessions without need to charge. I simply cannot believe the value of this controller and highly recommend! A wireless version is also coming to Xbox if you’re on console keep an eye out for it!

I went through 3 elite controllers, all of which had lb/rb bumper problems. The first one I wasn’t cautious with, the other 2 didn’t last more than a year without issues and I had taken apart and cleaned them. One controller had drift, and the other one had an A button lose its clickiness.

I couldn’t justify paying such a big price tag for something needing constant repairs, I’ve had this controller for a month and I truly enjoy it more than the elite controller. The thumb stick tension isn’t too loose feeling which was my biggest concern. The buttons all almost feel like mouse clicks, everything feels much more responsive. It took a bit of getting use to since it has large buttons that feel like a mouse for the back, but it feels better with time. The downside is being wired for Xbox, but I’ve gotten use it and still prefer the functionality of this controller. At the 80$ price point and overall better feeling I won’t get any other brand of controller from here on.

Edit: after 2 months I still feel this controller is the best budget controller with back buttons available, however the D-pad definitely has some misclicks here and there. If you’re heavy on D-pad usage you’ll notice its lack luster in comparison to a regular elite controller. It’s fine enough for me just brings it down a bit, although rebinding the buttons is always an option to compensate for this.
