Based on my research and first-hand experience with percussive massage guns, it seems the Theragun’s best feature is its “heads”; Theragun provides you with three very high quality interchangeable heads that all have various degrees of size and damping and just feel good. Other massage guns give you one “rubber ball” head and a few hard plastic heads. To me, this is about the only REAL true advantage of going with this brand massager.
For the money, stall force is very weak. Amplitude is also sub-optimal for my intended uses, and falls short of the agreed upon 12mm minimum standard for “deep tissue” massage.
I like the overall look and feel and UX of this product, however. Its sturdy, easy to use and elegantly executed. It charged just fine using any/all USB Type C chargers I had around the house, PD or otherwise.
The included cards are of … some(?) use to help illustrate how to use the device, but mostly they’re an extension of the very ambitious packaging which does NOT provide any value to the overall device itself. They reinforce the feeling (italic) that you bought the right (italic again) product.
If you want more bang for your buck, check out the Ekrin or other devices. If you want something that’s socially acceptable and “good” without having to do any research, and will indeed work, get one of these and enjoy it for what it is. Just know that this is not for athletic-type use as the stall force and amplitude do NOT measure up, and I’m not exactly a big guy.
Finally, it is very lightweight, which is great. All in all this is geared at a different audience and some people may be delighted to have it.
