The heat gets very hot and effective. First time I used this I put a lot of pressure on my back behind areas needed and let me tell you I was sore for two days after using this but it rid my pain I had been having for over a month. This can be used all over the body as needed. I really like the design and ease of use. It even came with an adapter for car so perfect for long trips. Worth every penny
