Great Gym set !
Robert Payne –
We converted our garage into a project and gym space. With a low ceiling, we were limited in the height of the equipment we could get. We also wanted something compact. The price was right for us. So we took the chance and ordered this gym. Boy, am I glad we did. This is a solid build. Nothing feels cheap. And I was able to put together in an afternoon. Now, these people know how to put together a compact gym. So I cut them some slack on writing good instructions on putting it together. I’ve seen worse instructions. At least these folks can use complete sentences. But it’s almost as if they got tired of writing toward the end. Because it is impossible to follow when it comes time to run the cables and install the pulleys. Those instructions took two pages. One of text and one of drawings. It should have taken 20. I’m an engineer by both education and in my 30 year career. So I wasn’t afraid to “figure it out.” But all I can say is look at the last few pages and trace out the cables in the drawings. The side view is best. And you’ll be able to do it no problem. There were some extra pieces. They also called out the wrong number of the M10-20 bolts you need. They send you the right amount! But according to the instructions you need 4 more. You don’t. And that is literally all of the negatives! The positives are it is a solid machine. It’s well constructed. I can see it lasting the rest of my life easily. It doesn’t feel uncomfortable to use. I could see some people complaining that the hand grips are “too plasticky.” But they aren’t really. They’re easy to get a grip on them, don’t move under your hands when you start to push, and they are easy to clean when you’re done. I would buy this machine again in a second! Americans will wonder “why are the weight plates 11 pounds and not 10.” And the answer to that is we chose not to change to the metric system when the rest of the world did, and they aren’t 11 pounds; they are 5 kilograms. Which makes perfect sense and is the way it should be. (That’s my engineer speaking BTW. For a country who thinks nothing of 4 quarts to a gallon, 2 pints to a quart, 2 cups to a pint, and 8 ounces to a cup – well Metric is simple by comparison.) Anyway, this meets my strength training needs as I get older. I’m not looking to bulk up. Just maintain strength as I age. And this will be perfect for that. If you are looking for something similar, I think you might be pleased with this gym. Just don’t let the instructions out you off. The pictures are worth a thousand words. And it is easier than trying to figure out how many ounces are in 3 gallons. 🤣
