I bought this speaker to use in conjunction with the 1 Mii long range Bluetooth transmitter. I’m brand new to using Bluetooth, so as I was hooking everything up and waiting for the devices to pair, when it finally did the speaker’s preset volume was SO LOUD I nearly jumped out of my skin! I frantically searched for the down volume button.

In terms of sound quality, very good, you’ll be surprised at how nice it sounds for it’s size. I think it’s biased toward the vocal range a little bit, so speech sounds exceptionally clear at low and mid volume levels. When you turn it up to max it doesn’t distort at all (surprisingly), but don’t expect it to have the bass and highs of a home audio setup. It’s more equivalent to a boombox in sound. At highest volume level those midrange tones are gonna make you cringe they’re so loud. It’s not distorting, that’s just the nature of a tiny speaker.

In terms of transmission distance, even though the transmitter I’m using (1 Mii) says “long range” 100 feet, when the speaker is 40 feet away I hear occasional 1-second dropouts. Do Bluetooth speakers also have to be rated as “long range” in order to cover distances longer than 33 feet?

As Bluetooth speakers go, this is great for the price. It’s not going to give you the deep bass like bigger speakers, but it still packs a punch. The battery life is great and charging is quick. It’s easy to use, and fits in your hand or whatever bag you carry, the music playback is long and the quality is acceptable, it would be best for small rooms, but it’s versatile enough for outdoor gatherings. The highs have good range and the lows are ok. It’s very functional.

Controls on the top and the setup was easy. I’m going to get another to pair them for surround sound where applicable.

This is a great little speaker; so much so I purchased a second one. Now, if you’re expecting a high-end speaker for cheap this isn’t it. It’s also not going to blow away your neighbors with it’s bass, or feel like you’re sitting in a concert hall. This is a cheap little speaker, with great sound and tones, living it’s best life for what it is. I bought one to listen to music in my kitchen while I cook/clean, then later a second to listen to music in my bathroom while I soak, or around the house while I do housework. I like my music loud, and this delivers; but it’s not gonna get stadium loud, just so you know – it easily fills a large room with loud sound, but it tapers when I go upstairs or to the other end of the house. Neither of my units have ever cracked or flattened (sound). They connect easily to my Samsung phones and MSI laptop. They hold a good charge (several hours), but I mostly leave the kitchen unit plugged in. The colored lights are just fun, and they’ve never had any issues. If you’re looking for a cheaper little portable guy, I highly recommend this one.
