    Bought this mainly for the camera, but disappointed with the phone overall. Don’t really feel like buying or recommending Pixel phones anymore. With the restrictions mentioned below, not much different from or beneficial over an iPhone.

    What’s great:
    * Good camera
    * Good battery
    * Good speed
    * Smooth operation
    * Less junkware

    What disappointed:
    * No more free unlimited Google Photos storage for Pixel users
    * Screen mirroring is locked to Chromecast; will not cast/mirror to Roku or Fire Stick or anything that uses Miracast
    * Pixel Launcher is pretty restrictive to what you can change; I hate the Google search bar on the bottom; cannot move it to the top, nor even edit its look

    What I knew was coming, but still disappointed:
    * I don’t like the on-screen fingerprint; rear fingerprint is the best; side fingerprint is tolerable; front is the worst — looks ugly with most phone cases or screen protectors (see attached image)
    * No 3.5mm headphone jack; you need to buy a USB-C headphone or a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter

    I decided to try this phone after researching “best moderately priced phones” and finding it rated higher than a lot of the companies I expected to see. It has taken a little while to adjust to a new Pixel after years of owning Motorola phones, but now I love this phone. The photos are so much better than with previous phones, the images on the phone screen are top rate, and the functions (once learned) work as expected. It is a great size for slipping into purse and pocket, charges a little faster than Google reports, and holds a charge two days for me, but I’m not a heavy phone user (calls, texts, searches and photos. I don’t use the phone for games). And the price is right! I don’t need top of the line, but I want really good and solid. I chose this phone because Google offers longer support than the “leading” phone makers and I plan to keep it a long time. Sound quality is great, it feels good in hand, and it looks good. The only downside I have found is lack of many high durability cases for it although one company on Amazon offers one that I’m using. It and the phone have survived one drop in fine style. I will update if that information changes. If you are unsure about a Pixel, do yourself a favor and try it. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

    The media could not be loaded.

    Coming from an iPhone for over 14 years, not using an Android during that period, this phone is beautiful and feels natural.

    What I like:
    – Lightweight
    – screen is vivid and viewable in direct sunlight
    – battery lasts all day with heavy usage
    – AI features ( Removing people and objects from images is amazing )
    – NO CAMERA BUMP
    – Video playback is beautiful

    What I don’t like
    – Ordering from Amazon you’re NOT eligible for device protection from Google.
    – Camera quality is decent but not the greatest
    – Video Quality is decent, but once again, not the greatest but for a budget phone it’s perfectly fine.
    – speakers are a little tinny

    I think this is overall a great phone, will be able to handle everyday usage, watching videos, texting, doom scrolling etc this will definitely meet your every need. I’m looking forward to using this for the next couple weeks a debating if this will replace my iPhone.

    Edit: I did return the device mainly due to the fact you can not get googles extended warranty – and I prefer iOS over Android

    Since the 2012 I’ve only used iPhones. Back then Android was pretty rough – very functional, but not a pleasure to use in my opinion. But recently Apple started sneaking ads for their stupid movies into their wallet app. A straw too far, as far as I’m concerned. And I’m tired of their constant and excessive advertising of their services.

    Pros:
    • Long term (7 YEARS!) of fast arriving system updates. No other Android device comes close to the Pixel series in this regard.
    • Great battery life! I’m a pretty moderate user so I generally only charge every two days once it hits around 40% remaining.
    • Like every modern Pixel device, this can be operated on a flat surface without wobbling around. Unlike the rest, this has no camera visor, just a pair of small and flat lenses on the back. Quality seems pretty great so far though.
    • Completely unlocked, including bootloader, so I can easily switch to other flavors of Android if I so desire. I like options!
    • Fingerprint reader and Face Unlock work well. Worth noting that this is not an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner so it doesn’t perform quite as well in direct sunlight or with a screen protector installed.
    • The price on this is really great for what you get. Comparing this to Apple’s most closely priced device (the 16e at time of writing) makes that phone look even more like the bad joke that it is.

    Cons:
    • Entirely subjective, but I don’t love that they made it so similarly shaped to a modern iPhone’s body shape and size – flat edges and flat screen. I just prefer a rounded edge experience for hand feel. It would be better if it were a bit smaller, but that is sadly not the world we live in anymore. I’ve since been trying out older Pixel series devices and will likely end up on an 8 as it is just SO much more comfortable to hold and use.

    So, if you are considering leaving Apple’s walled garden, I would say this is a great place to start! Don’t be intimidated by the switch – it has been extremely smooth and Android is now not only more feature rich than iOS but also more user friendly.

    This phone is a game-changer. It’s incredibly fast, making everything from browsing to gaming feel seamless. The cameras are outstanding, producing stunning, high-quality photos, and the built-in AI editing tools are a fantastic bonus that really elevate your shots.
    I’ve had no issues with the fingerprint and face scanners they are both incredibly reliable and fast. What truly sets this phone apart, however, is Google Gemini. It’s the most intuitive and helpful AI I’ve ever used. It’s so good, in fact, that it’s the first time I’ve ever found myself using a virtual assistant on a daily basis. I highly recommend this phone.

    Great phone. Sadly had to buy only because the 6a apparently has a bad battery and where I live made it impossible to get the fix I needed to keep my old phone otherwise I wouldn’t have had to buy a new one.
    Hopefully this one doesn’t have the same problem down the line!

    This is a midrange phone which functions as well as many flagship phones. There are some cost saving hardware such as no telephoto lens and not state of the art charging speed but for the average user it has an excellent processor, a large battery and the Google software that makes photos come out as if it were a device twice the price. The size is compact enough for people with small hands but has a sufficiently large screen and it has good water proofing and wireless charging to boot and it’s not loaded up with all kinds of extra software. Sound and voice are ok and the phone works well with my particular carrier. I bought this for my wife…I have a Pixel 6a that I really like and her old phone is not supported anymore whereas this one will have 7 years of upgrades. She’s delighted with the color and put on a clear case.

    I am a long time iPhone user and have had a few Pixel phones in the past.

    I am “upgrading from an iPhone 16” – Google Pixel 9a hits all the most important features: 120hz display, amazing battery life, nice no camera bump design, Gemini AI that actually works compared to the “Apple Intelligence”. The phone is more than good enough at a price point that doesn’t feel like you are being gouged every year 🙂

    Of course it doesn’t have all the flagship features (that most people probably never use anyways)
