Thsea are such cool lights. I bought these last summer with the hope of installing them before Christmas. In the past I have always had to climb onto my roof to install Christmas lights. It was such a chore, and like medium dangerous. Well long story short I broke my leg in October (luckily not falling off of the roof) and did not get a chance to install these until earlier this year, and man I missed out last Christmas!
The installations process does take some time but is very straightforward as long as you plan ahead. The adhesive pads stick extremely well to our vinyl soffits and haven’t shown any signs of budging all summer… a very hot humid summer so far. I love that the kit came with splices and jumpers to make it easier to install segments in all sorts of roof configurations, granted we didn’t need any of that since we have a very simple ranch style house, but I could see it being invaluable for some.
The application to control the lights does have a bit of a learning curve, but it didn’t take me too long to figure out how to design custom scenes and schedules after a bit of fiddling around with it. You can literally go light by light if you want and set everything manually or there are a bunch of fun pre-installed scenes available as well.
Overall the whole kit feels extremely high quality and I expect it should last a very long time. Currently it has only been a few months, but I will definitely update this review in the future if necessary. Everyone loved our 4th of July red white and blue lights, but I can’t wait for Halloween and Christmas! All I know is I am probably going to be buying a lot more Govee products in the future.

I would give no stars if possible. This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with any company. I purchased the Govee Pro lights on sale and had them installed two months ago. After just two months, they completely failed.
I reached out to Govee to try to make things right and went through their troubleshooting process. It was the hardest process I’ve ever had because no one was available to answer my questions or fix anything. It took about two weeks to even get that figured out.
After that, they were willing to replace the Govee Pro lights. I bought them on sale, so they refunded me for the sale amount. I don’t want a refund. I want the product again.
They said no, they refunded the money. Just two months later, that same product was over $200 more. They weren’t willing to cover the additional expenses, not to mention the $500 I had to pay to have them installed.
If I wanted them installed again, I would have to pay the full amount for the new price of the Govee permanent lights outdoor pro. At this point, Govee has costed me out of my pocket $900 just to have them taken off of my house after two months of no longer working.
It would be an additional loss of $700 if I were to purchase and install new Govee lights. I explained to them that I have purchased over $1500 in Govee lights throughout my property and home. But that meant nothing to them.
This by far is the worst business I’ve ever run into. I highly advise you don’t go with this product. Not only does the product fail very quickly, but the customer service, moral, and ethics of this company do not stand or fall in line with any customers.

These lights look great at night. They light up your house and have a ton of color options. Goovee attempted to make these easy to install but it can be difficult and time consuming. I would do the best you could to plan out the installation. Do you need an extension ladder or a drill….

There are a ton of color options
Cons:
It is a time consuming task to install
The kit will not likely provide enough splice materials
The lights are visible under the eves during the daytime and may not exactly color match
It’s possible that the sticky tape will fail in time
You have to use Bluetooth to control the lights. You have to be within Bluetooth range of the power box.

AMAZING LIGHTS!!! Super easy to install, only thing I recommend is getting wire screw holders to screw into the house because the stickers don’t hold up with the heat or snow, it’s better to secure the lights with a screw attachment. They sell them at Home Depot in the electrical aisle. Other than that they are amazing, thousands of choices of designs and colors that will last a lifetime! Remote controlled by an app on your phone, connects easily to your wife. Funnest lights on the whole block!

I like the lights, they work and look great. Installation was straightforward. Syncing the phone with the controller was a pain. The web offered more help than the company’s instructions or website. I ordered the 150 foot package. I had two 10 light strings left over and wanted to put them to use on the back deck of my home. I was shocked to learn that it is impossible to get a controller and adapter to make this happen. They only sell complete sets. You can find the driver on Amazon, but everything is useless without the adapter and controller. I have seen people selling light sets without the adapter and controller, obviously they bought the whole set hoping to sell the parts they didn’t need. I see a lot of posts from frustrated customers and wonder why the company isn’t addressing their needs.
After contacting customer service they sent me a driver and controller so I am able to use my remaining 20 lights.

This Govee pro is an amazing lighting system. It’s so easy to install and the instructions were simple and well laid out. I liked the fact that it comes with a wide variety of connectors and extensions to go from one level of roof area to another.
I opted to spend a little more to make the job perfect so I bought 1/2” speaker wire channel (on Amazon) 17” long, to put between each light puck. A little more wrk and $$$ but well worth to make the job look professional. I used a peice of 2×4 to put each puck 3 1/2” from the back wall and the light reflection is absolutely perfect at that distance. I would recommend this lighting system to anyone looking to spruce up the looks of their home.

I bought these after my neighbour had them on his house for the last couple of years and he was telling me how pleased he was with them. They took some effort to put up, as I bought some light brackets (also from Amazon) and screwed each light into the soffit. I just used a short piece of 2×4 to measure how far to place them away from the outside walls. They look discreet when they’re off during the day and they look great at night. We’ll see just how “permanent” these light are, and I’m a little worried about support for the app should anything ever happen to the company in the future, as that’s the only way to control the light colours/patterns. For now, I’m glad to not have to get onto the roof to put up and take down Christmas lights every year.
