I was researching so i could Buy a good laptop, this one caught My atention. Delivery times were very fast. After I recieved it, it was everything I was expecting. I really like the way it wotks, very fast, keyboard has a Nice touch and the pad works great. I had other laptop Windows 10 and everything I used there works here, since i paid for some services. I liked it so mucho that I am also thinking about buying a surface pro 11.

And it seem to run cooler than my old surface did which I didn’t expect.
The new battery charging management system is fine even if it had me
wondering why it was stubbornly maintining a 74% max charge at first.

Awesome product and was selling cheaper than in store during boxing week. Love that it was really nicely packaged and protected and given its a high value product they call you to get a code before leaving which is much appreciated. Great experience purchasing and unboxing! Love this laptop. Personally I love windows and can never get used to using a Mac despite having an iPhone, I love my excel shortcuts and having a touch screen so this was best choice at a reasonable price.

I was a little hesitant to move to an ARM based processor. After doing some research, watching reviews and looking at the applications I needed, I felt confident in purchasing. Everything has worked really well. I also purchased a 1TB micro SSD to put movies on as I plan to travel a lot. Battery lasts a long time without sacrificing performance.

This incredible, beautiful, elegant and productive laptop showcases what Microsoft is truly capable of, and I’m a Linux guy. I bought the big one – 15″ screen, 32 gig RAM, elite CPU. It is a powerhouse of a laptop.

Now – there is one con, but as time progresses the problem becomes less and less of a problem and that is the ARM architecture vs standard Intel x86/64. Basically, this laptop uses a newer, different CPU architecture, which means that many applications don’t work yet (YET!!). Almost everything I threw at this laptop worked out of the box and worked beautifully. There were some older applications that didn’t work (SimCity Deluxe for example). But and this is a huge BUT – as time passes more applications are supported (or emulated effectively) and it becomes less and less an issue.

With the 1 CON out of the way, let’s talk about how amazing this laptop is:
Premium feel (shell and keyboard). As good as or even better than a MacBook. Yes, for real.
    Speakers sound delightful.
The 15″-inch sounds like a big laptop but fits perfectly in my backpack and it is still light and small. I mean, unless you are a 5’2″ petite tiny person I don’t see how this 15″ laptop is too big for someone.
It is plenty fast for doing all sorts of productivity like writing papers, excel spreadsheeting, music, internet, YouTube etc. Understand this isn’t a fancy Chromebook. Operating System / Applications are exceptionally fast. This laptop WILL make you more productive just by opening it. It makes you want to work it’s so nice.
Battery life is OUTSTANDING. If you aren’t glued to this laptop for hours at a time the battery will last DAYS. Literally days.
Touchpad is also legit. No problems with cursor moving around (palm detection) and typing. Just legit good.
Even when watching movies it doesn’t get hot. Temperature is steady and cool. I love ARM.

In closing, get this laptop. It’s nice. Really nice. Like honestly, the nicest laptop I’ve ever owned (I’ve had the ASUS ROG 2024, two Dell XPS 15’s, Razer Blades, etc.,)

For my fellow nerds in the crowd:
VMWare & Vbox do NOT work. Remember that ARM is a RISC architecture and neither products support ARM (yet). Docker Desktop for Windows DOES work on ARM. Also, WSL 2.0 also works just fine.
Also, with the advent of cloud, lightweight servers (I run a small cloud on my home network) we don’t need powerhouse laptops anymore if you have supporting infra. When I’m on travel I just VPN into my home network and I have all the resources I need. So keep something light and portable to work from 🙂

I received the laptop approximately one hour ago, and I am extremely disappointed with its condition. The device is defective—it does not start properly and continuously displays a message saying “attempting repairs,” but never actually initiates.

Additionally, I noticed that one of the rubber feet is missing, the box arrived scratched and damaged, and the seal was already broken. These signs strongly suggest that the laptop may have been used or returned previously.

This is unacceptable, especially for what should have been a new product.

This is probably the worst laptop I’ve ever owned, and being someone who has spent nearly 25 years working in IT, believe me when I say I’ve owned LOTS of laptops.

The good: this laptop is very lightweight, has all day battery and actually looks very nice.

The bad: pretty much everything else. I purchased this Surface Laptop to replace my aging Surface Pro 4 and numerous times I’ve had to drag that one out because this steaming pile let me down.

Example: the full size USB port lacks driver compatibility with a lot of devices. It all goes back to the processor architecture used in this device and the fact Microsoft was too lazy to do due diligence regarding hardware drivers. There are several threads on MSFT consumer support about this and the answer is they know about it but won’t fix it.

I’ve also run into issues with this laptop not resuming correctly from battery saving mode wherein it just won’t work (apps won’t open or close, it doesn’t detect hardware changes like plugging/unplugging peripherals, etc). Again, I strongly suspect this is due to MSFT failing to do their due diligence when doing bug/product QA testing.

TL;DR – if you’re a basic user who doesn’t want to connect anything (digital camera, printer, etc) to this laptop via USB, won’t be using anything but basic applications (web browsing, email, etc) and don’t need to pause/resume usage frequently, this is a nice laptop. If you actually want a fully functional device, save yourself the headache and go buy an Apple.

While I have a current model MacBook, I have always preferred the Windows operating system and the Surface Laptop implements it wonderfully. It has a perfect dimensions with a screen aspect ratio of 3:2 – just as wide as most 13.5 inch [the Surface has a 13.8 inch screen] laptops but with a taller screen. I find that this ratio hits the sweet spot. The case is solid magnesium-aluminum alloy with no flex. The keyboard is also very solid with a really good feel on pressing the keys. This unit has the new Windows AI key but it just replaces a redundant key so that skin keyboard covers for older Surface Laptops will fit this one as well. As with all recent Surface Laptops, the case design is the most elegant of any laptop that I have had. The slots for air ventilation and sound from the internal speakers are hidden. There are no laptops with as clean a case as this one. The new Snapdragon X Plus processor is ultra-fast and power-efficient. It can now be left on indefinitely like Apple iPads or MacBooks, with little lost of battery charge. I just let it go to sleep and when I return to work on it, it uses the Windows Hello IR camera for instant back-to-work. It continues to use the Microsoft magnetic charging system that I like since it is designed to detach from the computer when the cable is pulled. I notice that some will complain about proprietary charging connectors but they overlook the fact that this Surface Laptop can be also charged with any USB charger using its USB-C port.
