Was tired of paying Xfinity a monthly fee for their modem. My Xfinity router was having issues dropping from their network. Used netgear routers in the past so was pleasantly surprised to see they had an Xfinity compatible modem router. Extremely easy to set up and the nighthawk app is user friendly and have had 0 issues with my network/internet since setting it up. Was a little tricky to set up the nighthawk app originally but was easy to fix. Pays for itself within 18 months compared to what I was paying for Xfinity. Gig internet users don’t sleep on this modem/router!!

CAX Modem Review: Reliable Performance and Impressive Speed and save on ISP rental fees As an avid internet user who relies heavily on a stable connection for both gaming and entertainment, I recently decided to upgrade my modem and went with the CAX modem. After using it for a few months, here’s my take on this device. Design and Setup: The CAX modem has a sleek, modern design that fits well in my home office setup. It’s compact, which is great for saving space, and the LED indicators are clear and intuitive, giving you an immediate status update on your connection. The setup process was surprisingly easy; I followed the instructions included in the box, and I was online within 20 minutes. The modem is compatible with most major ISPs, making it a versatile choice for different users. Performance: Where the CAX modem truly shines is in its performance. With my previous modem, I often encountered buffering issues and dropped connections during high usage times and packet loss. However, since switching to the CAX, I’ve experienced significantly faster speeds, particularly when streaming 4K content or gaming online. The modem supports DOCSIS 3.1, which allows for lightning-fast download speeds, and I can confidently say it lives up to its promises. Connectivity: The CAX modem features multiple Ethernet ports, which is a fantastic addition for anyone with multiple wired devices. The Wi-Fi range is impressive as well; I’ve noticed a stable connection even in rooms that previously had weak signals. This feature has been extremely beneficial for my family, enabling seamless browsing and streaming on multiple devices without any lag. Value for Money: With its robust performance and modern features, the CAX modem is reasonably priced, especially considering the cost savings on rental fees from ISPs. If you’re a heavy internet user, investing in a quality modem like this can lead to significant long-term savings. Conclusion: Overall, the CAX modem has exceeded my expectations. Its design is user-friendly, setup is a breeze, and its performance is flawless. For anyone looking to enhance their home network experience, the CAX modem is certainly worth considering.

The Netgear Nighthawk CAX30 is a fantastic modem-router combo—solid speeds, reliable connectivity, and easy setup. However, if you’re using Xfinity without their modem, be aware that they throttle the upload speed to 5Mbps, which severely limits performance for tasks like video calls, gaming, and cloud backups. This isn’t a fault of the CAX30 itself; the hardware is more than capable. Just frustrating that Xfinity’s restrictions hold back its full potential. If you’re considering this device, make sure your ISP allows higher upload speeds!

My texts were failing when connected to my previous modem/router and one of the solutions presented was updating the modem. After the easy installation, I have had zero issues with text messaging. The router is faster and I love that I have a guess network and password that can be turned on and off. Great modem that was super fast to connect to COX. A previously purchased modem (Arris) had to be returned since it could not be connected after 2 hours of trying with COX.

Had the NETGEAR C7000v2 DOCSIS 3.0 modem – router for four years, connected to Windows 10. Very reliable, but it slowed down right after switching to Windows 11 pro. This NETGEAR AX2700 Nighthawk DOCSIS 3.1 WiFi Cable modem router is wonderful. Upload speed increased immediately by 150 MB over the older modem – router.
I recommend setting it up using a browser. Use ‘ipconfig’ to get your ipaddress using the command prompt. Then, just paste your ipaddress into the browser search/address box to connect to the modem – router’s nice modern interface.
NETGEAR offers an app, but I’ve never used it. This modem – router works with xfinity, Spectrum, Cox and other service providers. No issues connecting. If you have a double play or triple play package from your provider, make sure you read the full description about this device. It won’t work with bundled voice services.
Recently, I’ve tried to convince a couple of friends to save the $10 plus per month they pay to the service providers to rent their modem, but they just keep paying. Setup your own modem – router the first time, and the next time will be easy. Put the $120 plus per year rental money back in your pocket! I saved $480 during the four years with the C7000v2! The savings was way more than what I paid for the new unit.

A nice bump of performance over my 5 year old dying Asus.. Easy to install and get running, super fast speeds and so far no dropped internet (Xfinity).
Its really confusing which models to buy so i took a leap of faith on this one at 299 bucks. Hopefully it lasts
