When I first got this item, I was really excited. As a PhD student and teacher, I prefer having my laptop screen private, especially when grading. The idea is great, but the magnetic screen doesn’t hold. Even with the stickers they send, the magnetic quality on the screen is really poor. Another thing to note is the screen quality. With the brightness up on my screen due to the lack of adhesion, the image appears blurry, and it seems that the gap between the screen and the privacy screen distorts everything.
Now some pros. If the screen worked as intended, the quality would be top-notch. I can see how this is supposed to work, and it is very accurate. I may have gotten a faulty protector, which happens sometimes. I am hesitant to purchase a new one, as I’m not sure if it would work or improve. The screen’s feel is nice, but it gets pretty dirty quickly.
All that said, I’m giving this a 3-star, as it is almost there.

Great item to help keep your screen private in public and also to protect it. Only con is it can come off fairly easily if you tilt your computer at certain angles, luckily that is not really an issue. Overall love the product and would buy it again.

I got this privacy screen for my laptop because, as a teacher, I often have sensitive student information open while working in the classroom. This screen has been exactly what I needed to keep wandering eyes away from grades, emails, or other private material.
One of the best parts is that it’s super easy to attach and remove. I can pop it on during class or meetings and take it off when I need to share my screen with others. The fit is secure and it doesn’t slide around.
The screen dims the view just enough so that you see everything clearly straight on, but people sitting next to you see only a dark screen. It’s made me feel a lot more comfortable working in shared spaces.
Highly recommend this to any teacher — or anyone — who wants an affordable, effective way to keep their laptop work private.

This is a good price and really easy to install – there’s a magnetic strip at the top that clings to the top of the screen. As other have noted, it does not automatically attach at the bottom…it comes with double-sided tape to hold it in place (which I’m not using). Provided the screen is tilted back at an angle, I don’t feel I need the adhesive strips at the bottom. The privacy feature seems pretty effective…to me, better than some of the other review photos. The drawback with this and any privacy screen (I suspect) is that it does dim your screen so you need to increase the brightness to full in order to get good visibility. Also the privacy feature by nature makes the screen resolution less sharp. So as others have said, it’s terrific if you’re going to use it *on occasion* such as on flights, in coffee shops, or any place there are a lot of people and you want privacy. I will only use it for that and normally keep it in its protective sleeve when I’m at home or other places where privacy is no concern. Overall, I’d recommend it, with the caveats mentioned above, which may or may not be an issue for your particular needs and use.

This privacy screen works very well for my MacBook. It fit perfectly to my screen with no issue. People sitting beside me on airplanes cannot see what’s on my screen which made it great to work in close spaces. The one difficult thing with this screen is that it might be difficult to see the screen if you’re in a room with very bright light as the glare makes it wash out the screen. This wasn’t a common issue but definitely something to keep in mind if you use your MacBook in places that has brighter lighting. But overall, a great product!

Feels sturdy, definitely scratch resistance, at least from my toddler hitting with a pencil.
Instructions were included but I didn’t need them, it literally straight forward to use. I like my screen is protected and has privacy for when I’m out in public.
Haven’t used the adhesive since I like the fact I can remove it and install it when I need it. And I like that I can leave on the screen and close the laptop at the same time.

So far it’s the sharpest of the bunch I have tried. I sometimes wonder if I’m looking too closely and seeing some fuzziness that isn’t there, but I believe it needs some more attachment in order to keep it in consistent, uniform contact with the screen below. The magnets on the top are good, they help alignment, but the left, right, and bottom bezels are just stuck on via gravity or static cling. If you have a case with tenting feet for ergonomic comfort, the lower half of the protector will swing out and add a big gap between it and the LCD panel, messing with sharpness a bit.
That is a natural problem with removable screen protectors, however: Unless you adhere them to the screen, you WANT them removed and reinstalled easily, because you need to keep the screen underneath free of lint & debris. If it remains, then you etch scratches into it as you carry it every day. So far, my solution is to put a tiny strip of weak tape along the bottom edge to keep it uniformly attached, and I remove and clean the screen underneath every so often when the mood strikes.
The pack includes a very nice little poly folder to help store this when not in use. I use it as a clean surface I can rest this in when removed. It’s a nice touch!
