I needed a small compact high output (100 +) psi pump and so far so good. I love the digital preset psi set and wait feature, I used/tested this a few times and my unit has either been spot on or within 1 or 2 psi which is fine with me. I purchased this to top off my high psi RV tires as needed, it took me from 50 psi to 70 psi with ease and in no time at all, I was definitely impressed with it’s performance!

The one thing I added was a Jayco quick connect chuck to simplify the screw on/off chuck but that was just my preference, definitely not needed, just make’s life easier for me.

I do own a larger Viair unit for heaver use but this smaller unit might just be capable enough for most of my needs. Hits 70 psi with ease. I’m a big fan of Viair products so I’m hoping it’ll hold up over time.

If you’re looking for a compact 120 psi digital compressor with a digital preset psi, I wouldn’t hesitate, this is definitely a solid lil unit. Not saying it’ll fill 33’s all day long but for most suv’s, pickups and light RV’s, this will do the job. I’m using it fill my 17″ BF KO2’s that hold 70 psi when I off road and to adjust here and there in the cold weather.

I tried a few from aross the pond with no luck. I even tried to use a fancy name brand that is yellow…you know the brand. It was weak in comparison. It also required a battery even though it came with a cigar lighter cord. This thing tops off my tires in less than 5 minutes for all 4. I did get a speed chuck for it (Chuck Mates). The gauge is spot on. I purchased one that arrived used, but I gave it a try and the gauge was off by 2PSI. The replacement was factory sealed and it works perfectly. No more lugging around my pancake compressor just to top off the tires. You can buy garbage brands here all day. I needed a compressor not something that resembled a cell phone that I wished would work. Does anyone who buys a battery operated tire compressor expect it to last longer than a week? Do you expect it to store it in your car that reaches extreme temps and know it will always be fully charged when you least expect it? You will stop buying junk products when you try one of these. I think it was worth the extra $16 to get a accurate digital gauge and auto shutoff. This litterally runs less than 15 seconds per tire to top off.

In the seemingly never ending search for quality products Amongst an ocean or forest of knock off’s without any quality control You need look no further there is hope BECAUSE THE COMPRESSOR IS DESIGNED WITH ALOT OF THOUGHT IT DOESN’T TAKE ALOT OF THOUGHT TO USE IT
IT IS WELL MADE AND MADE TO WORK WELL With so many models to choose from there is sure to be one that fits your budget and or your requirements The specifications of the compressor believe it or not match its actual performance
The power wire and alligator clips are sized generously but nice and short so that the compressor motor isn’t unnecessarily strained The reality is if you have very long power wires the compressor has to work much harder to suck the power out of the battery this causes the compressor motor to run hotter and shortens its lifespan. if you wanted to run the correct gauge power wire long enough to reach around the car it would have to be almost as thick as Some jumper cables on the market. However it is infinitely easier for the compressor to blow the air through the longer air hose to reach the tires Speaking of air hoses that was the first thing i noticed when i unpacked the compressor. Again going against convention the compressor comes with a High quality hose that is designed to last more than the 4 or 5 uses that so many other of the manufacturers are using It’s almost as if VIAR Understands the importance of getting the air from the compressor to the tires reliably and repeatedly without having stop every 5 or 10 minutes waiting for the compressor to cool down or In my experience stop smoking like so many of the inferior compressors on the market. My only real complaint is I wish the bag that it is stored in was a little bigger so that the power cord etc. Wasn’t bent over as soon as it comes out of the compressor. !!!ATTENTION When they say watch out it gets hot they mean it but that’s a small price to pay So I guess you could say “I KINDA LIKE IT”

You know, I’ve cheaped out on a lot of things in the past. Everyday items, food and even clothing. But this is one instance where I decided not to do that. I decided to go for broke. I did my research and was looking for some non fancy air pump. All I wanted it to do was pump air into my car tires, and have a gauge to tell me when to stop (maybe). So I found this. This was definitely one of the least fancy pumps I found. Seriously, it does nothing other than pump air. But boy am I happy with it. It pumps up my tires from flat in less that 3 minutes. You start your car, plug in the red than black terminals into your battery, screw in the air valve (yes it’s a screw in so you can literally screw it in and leave it while it pumps, it is very secure) and turn the baby on and it’ll go. The gauge is accurate. It is an analog so obviously it has the trappings and inaccuracies of an analog but it definitely gets the right pressure figures for you. But while you’re pumping, the case obviously is showing a different pressure (keep that in mind) as the pump is forcing air into the wheels. All in all, this pump is amazing. It’s a uni-tasker but it does the only tasks it needs to do exceptionally well. I have friends with the fancy 40$-140$ starter/pump/battery/radio/vibrator type deals and they just don’t hold up to this thing. If you’re in need of an air pump, I definitely recommend this specific pump.

Some context, I got this because I had a slow rim leak I couldn’t really tend to. The tire would lose 5-10 PSI every two weeks. Definitely was a tire mounting issue. Regardless, I ordered this pump to remedy that. I just made it a habit to pump my tires once every week or so to maintain optimum pressure. That’s what this was for. I have other occasions where I’ve helped others on the road with this. Big car or small car it does the trick. Although I do recommend you read through the specifications for this pump before buying it for your massive vehicles. There are restrictions.

I first bought a Viair compressor in 2002 or 3 (I think) Since then I used it extensively off roading in the UK, Europe and 3 or 4 trips a year round the the Sahara and further south until 2014. Since my trips to the desert were curtailed due to the Libyan civil war and general associated security risks, I have used it every couple of weeks to top up my tyres until it finally died a couple of months ago.

I honestly couldn’t estimate how many hundreds of hours of relentless pumping it did over the years. It worked flawlessly in the heat, sand, dust, mud, driving rain, snow and ice, and it survived living in the back of various 110 Defenders for nearly two decades.

Anyway it eventually died and I replaced it with a cheap standard domestic type one from by a known brand which was basically tat. I got 2 months use out of it tending to both my wife’s car and mine (which has a slow puncture due to a slightly bent rim). It was slow, insanely loud and broke after maybe 10-15 uses.

I treated myself to a new Viair compressor as a replacement. It’s more or less the same as the one I had before but a newer model. It’s quieter, seems quicker and it’s shiny! I expect it to last a similar length of time. If you are considering buying a home compressor – get a Viair. They really are worth the bit extra you pay for a quality product.
