Marketing hype hurts us all–sellers and buyers. Truth in advertising helps us all–sellers and buyers. How does a seller expect follow up sales if their product is over-hyped and buyers are disappointed? Hype makes no sense.
You know where I’m going…there be hype here. While this item does NOT warrant the hype, it is a solid value at this price point, and I would buy it again. I’m going to give it a qualified 5 stars because of what it is at the price it goes for–if I rated it against the hype, it would be 1 or 2 stars.
It is not “super long.” The bracket is 2 1/2 inches from the center of the handle bar it attaches to to the center of the accessory bar it comes with. If that clears what is already on your handle bar, great, but it is not long. The “extender” bar, which his what you will be attaching your gadget to that you don’t have room on your handle bar for gives you about 3 and a bit inches, which is enough, depending on what you attach, for maybe two items. Also not long, but possibly exactly enough.
It is not “high quality” or “top tier.” It is fairly average, maybe a bit thin, but pretty much what you can expect for an extender bar. I’d say the paint is not the best, but it is also about average. It is all aluminum, so a scratch won’t lead to rust.
The upside is that this is super lightweight. For those who are counting grams on their setup, this is a good addition.
It does come with a couple of inserts for the end of the bracket that attaches to the handle bar to accommodate most standard handlebar diameters. That end has a hinge so that you don’t have to remove everything else on the handlebar to slide it on. That is a great feature!

This absolutely will not work. It will not tighten enough on your handlebar NOR if you try and tighten the bar itself. It stays loose. The screws do not screw all the way. AND I have tried. EXTREMELY disappointed.

It fits both the curved handlebars on my mountain bike and the straight handlebars on my electric bike. It’s easy to install. It included a rubber and plastic pad. I needed to use both of them for my handlebars. The bar is made of metal and it’s lightweight. The bar and clamp feel sturdy. I really needed it for the curved handlebars because it doesn’t have enough space for all my bike accessories. I use it to mount an extra bike light when I ride at night. I attach my phone mount or bike camera at other times. They all fit on the bar perfectly. I position the bike extender vertically for the bike light and phone mount and reposition it to be horizontal for my bike camera. It gave me more space to mount extra accessories on my handlebar, and I like how it looks. It’s exactly what I needed, and it’s a good value for the price too.
