Wonderful. When you have jumper cables, but you don’t have the second vehicle – this comes in very handy. Easy to charge (order the charge cable sold separately). Holds charge for long time and can be used multiple times on single charge (easy to read battery gauge). Connect the clamps to vehicle and give it a couple minutes to energize the vehicle before trying to start vehicle. If you live at an Apartment, Condo, or Home by yourself, this is a great addition (insurance).

Why did you pick this product vs others?:
this thing is surprisingly heavy to carry. I don’t like that there is no on off switch and it didn’t come with a way to charge it my house. It does however so far work well. seems well made

How exciting can a battery boost system be? I guess that depends on how badly you need it! I have a couple of other battery boost systems, but most are underpowered or annoying to use, with long cables or weird charging processes. This Jump-N-Carry is not annoying at all. It’s a relatively light unit, with a nice handle, and about 3-foot cables that wrap around built-in holders that then hold the jumper clips in a neat package. You charge the Jump-N-Carry by plugging it in to the wall using an extension cord (not supplied) and the unit shuts off automatically (despite comments to the contrary!). A light shows when the Jump-N-Carry is charging and when fully charged.

I’ve used the Jump-N-Carry several times already, including in the middle of a snow storm to jump a tractor battery to help clear snow. You simply unwind the cables and attache the clips, then start the vehicle normally. No buttons to push, nothing special to do. Every time the Jump-N-Carry has boosted the vehicles I’ve used it on without a hitch, after which you simply disconnect, wrap the jumper cables, and plug it in to recharge if the battery state is getting low. Despite wicked cold -40C winds killing the tractor battery in my last boost, the Jump-N-Carry required a single turn of the key to bring the tractor to life. It has done the same for my SUV and several stranded motorists, too.

This is one of those devices you don’t appreciate until you need it. I keep one in the garage, on a charger, and now have one in my vehicle for helping others when they stall. Well made, easy to use, simple in operation, these chargers have been flawless for me, and strongly recommended.

I purchased this September 2024 had no issues it was a great unit and served it purpose until 11 months later it showed full charge but start anything and when hooked to a battery right from full charge and you press button it shows pack drained. I habe friends with same unit not issues . So seems like a great product just I have a one off. Talked to customer service and they were very responsive and acted quickly to get me a new one. Definitely will buy again in the future . Great customer service

    This is a combined review for the Jump-N-Carry JNC660, JNC311, and JNC318.

Back in November 2015, my car battery died on a particularly inconvenient day at work when I was dressed up and had an important presentation. Not life threatening – just inconvenient. The very next day, as I waited at the dealership while they installed a new battery, I ordered two JNC660s from Amazon (one for me, and one for my buddy who drove over to give me a jump start and waited until I left to make sure that my car kept running). I went with the Jump-N-Carry because of the many positive reviews over the years.

The JNC660 is rock solid…and weighs the part. It’s not petite, either. However, it easily fits in a trunk or (in my case) on the floor behind my passenger seat. You need to have your own extension cord to charge it up, and it takes a while to get it all juiced up, but it stays charged for a long time. After about a year and a half, I finally noticed the charge meter drop a bit, so I plugged it back in to top it off. In other words, you don’t need to make sure to charge this up every month. Charge it up, put it in your car, and forget about it (outside of checking the charge periodically).

The JNC660 inspires confidence, but like I said, it isn’t small. After I bought two of them, I then started to see the much smaller battery pack sized units that other companies were selling (and that Jump-N-Carry now sells in the 311 and 318). I was _extremely_ skeptical that something that small could jump start a car, but I bought a couple, and the DO work. Well, the ones that I got do, anyway. I’ve had a ChargeIt! Jump in my car for about a year. I jump started my car with it just to make sure it would work, and after months in my car without being recharged, I got it out to jump start someone else’s car…and it was still fully charged and worked beautifully. I love that little jump starter.

Enter the 311 and 318. They have a similar level of rugged construction to the 660, while having a big reduction in size and weight. Speaking of size, the 311 is noticeably smaller than the 318, and I prefer it. It’s just a bit bigger than the ChargeIt! (and is more ruggedly built). I also like that they have flashlights on the front, which can be especially handy if you’re needing to jump start a car in the dark. I’m nervous enough around car battery terminals – I definitely don’t want to be fumbling around them in the dark.

I mention the more convenient size of the 311 because, if you’re like me, you might have thought that they were the same size from the product photos and figured that for an extra ~$20, you might as well just go with the higher powered unit. Now that I have both of them, I’m going to carry the 311 in my car. The carrying cases are the same size, so you won’t save any storage space – but it’s just a slightly more convenient size to hold on to as your connecting up to the car terminals to jump start it.

That said, the 318 would be better for some of you. Here’s what the 318 adds over the 311:
(*) It comes with a preheat option for cold weather
(*) It comes with the 12V accessory (“cigarette lighter” sized plug) that is optional for the 311
    (*) It’s rated for 8-cylinder engines, versus 6-cylinder engines for the 311
(*) It has a second USB power port

I have a 4-cylinder engine and live in southern Arizona where it doesn’t get very cold, so the 311 is perfect for me. At about $100, I think it’s well worth it. The 318 is still fairly small for a jump starter and adds some good features, and although I like the 311 better for my uses, it’s still a nice unit. The 660, while significantly larger and heavier than the lithium units, easily fits into a trunk or back seat, costs about the same, and has more power. Honestly, I think all three are good choices, but I am really happy to see Jump-N-Carry making the lithium units. They are just do darn convenient for the average consumer.

A simple, rugged, no frills, never let you down if you keep it charged kind of unit. I’ve absolutely abused mine, and it just keeps chugging. I did finally break the wall charging plug on one, but not really the unit’s fault. I have owned 2 for many years (5-10 each) and both batteries have finally given up the ghost, so will be buying again this coming week (replacement batteries cost almost the same as a new unit). It’s also handy for using the 12v outlet to power a tire pump without having to snake the cord through the car to the port on the front dash. I highly recommend.

I wanted to explain how I decided to purchase this Jump-n-Pack so my review is long Sorry!

I have used many Jump Packs & all have worked OK in the past until I purchased a Larger Diesel Truck that is. This truck is a Mitsubishi FE140 with a 4Cyl Turbo Diesel engine. It has two Batteries & we have two inverters, a fridge etc that run of the truck.

One day we was shopping but when we returned to the truck no start because we left lights on OOPs. Now the store we were at had a normal Name Brand Jump Pack like you see in most stores. Unfortunately it didn’t work at all.

So we called roadside Assistance which was to say the least an adventure.

    1. After over two hours of waiting & mis-communications a nice guy in a Honda that was barely running showed up. I was literally laughing as he pulled up with his little yellow light on the roof. His car was barely running. All he had was a smaller Clore Jump-n-Carry which didn’t do any better than the other one we tried earlier. He gave up eventually

    2. Roadside Assistance Apologized & said they would send a more appropriate vendor to jump our truck.

    3. Next a truck larger than ours showed up so now Im thinking we are in good hands. Well he had a direct connection plug to use his truck to jump us which did work but not before trying for 30 minutes.

So after all this my BoyScout side said I would never be left in this situation again so I researched many Jump Packs on the web. Finally finding the Clore JNC660 which had a few reviews about it jumping even Larger Tractors which have multiple batteries. I decided I had nothing to loose so I purchased it during a Xmas Lightning deal thinking how is this Jump Pack going to work on our truck being this inexpensive. I purchased knowing Amazon would back it up & also thinking I could use it on our boat if nothing else.

I also made sure I was getting the newer model based on some reviews saying they didn’t receive the updated model. At first all seemed well so I didn’t get to test it out since I wasn’t going to run batteries down purposely. Finally there was a day it happened the truck didn’t start because something ran the batteries down. So I pulled the Jump-n-Pack out thinking I hope this works.

First of all it had nice long reach cables which was awesome since all others I have owned or tried had very short cables that required holding the jump pack up over batteries. Next I hooked it up went to cab tried to start & it fired up almost instantly to my amazement.

I have now had to use the Jump-n-Pack multiple times on this truck because the Fridge was running batteries down very fast due to defect. The Jump-n-Pack has not failed one time & has had to jump this truck not only once on a charge but 4 times in same day.

I know it is It is just a simple Jump Pack but it does the job so well all my vehicles will have one soon.

    Update 08/19/2013:

I have been using this for quite awhile now & it has never let me down yet. I have used it to boost my Fuso Turbo Diesel truck multiple times, Our Land Rover, Lawn Mower as well as our Boat. I will purchase a backup second one when Amazon puts it on sale again.

Now there is one negative to mention. After using it quite a few times I have noticed the cables getting skinned from the way it winds them up. I have found you must take extra care to wind it up just right to prevent this from happening.

    Update 09/12/2013

Today Amazon put this on sale again so true to my word I have purchased a second one.

I also wanted to add to my review I recently had to replace both batteries on my Truck because they both had dead cells. This is even more testament to this Jumper because it was still able to get my truck running even with two bad batteries that were low on water also.

    Update 07/16/2014

I now have two of these & they are both working GREAT!

    Update 04/15/2016

Well we lost our home to a total loss fire along with the certificates for battery replacement so not sure how long before batteries give up.

So far I have used multiple JNC660 to jump my vehicles, boat, rv as well as people not prepared in parking lots. A few have been so impressed they said they would be purchasing one like mine.

All I can say is all 3 are going strong and still dependable which is all that matters.

Well worth the money. No it’s not light, or compact, but if your someone that uses these everyday, and hate having to find the “good one” in the pile just to get all the way to the vehicle and find out it’s not the “good one”… This is the jumper for you! You can count on this unit to start any and everything you hook it up too! Very reliable, has more than enough power, excellent choice if you need a jump box you can depend on!
